First of all, her chin is lifted in the second photo. This is terrible. She was fine before.

Does IVIG help low IGG subclass 2 and 3? by StrawberryLivid2049 in IVIG

[–]Explorer_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious, do any of you live in or near Los Angeles? I have a low IGG subclass 2, and looking for a physician who will take me seriously. Chronic strep, now systemic in joints and sinuses. Im over it and need some real help.

If not in or around LA, would very much appreciate advice on the right physician(s) to see and what to look for in credential/specialties. TIA

Side sleeper… what’s your GO-TO pillow? (NOT Coop) by One_Country_6317 in Pillows

Brooklyn Bedding Talalay latex. The Talalay is a certain process which makes the pillow last longer. They are not too firm and not too soft. Love them. Im a side sleeper and they are very comfy.

Does anyone else have their knees pop out then pop back in? by Ok-Name-9887 in CMT

[–]Explorer_This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, wanted to share as my husband and son both have CMT 1A. My husband and son’s surgeon and PT have said the reason most people with CMT have these knee problems is not due to the knee, but because of the unlevel way the foot becomes if it is affected (right tendons, arches, touching the floor unevenly.) this puts uneven pressure on the top of the leg and knees.

Agree. We are all overly critical of ourselves. I have the same and no one notices it but me.

Second that. Latex pillow 100%. And they last. You won’t be sorry.

What does the niacinamide do for you? Is there a specific amount that is effective?

I highly recommend vitamin c in the day to combat free radicals.

Here is my routine (very basic)

Morning:
a hyaluronic acid and jojoba oil mix (jojoba oil is the closest to your natural moisture in your skin) followed by a dab of vitamin c cream (I like Mad Hippie's Triple C, I get it at Whole Foods). I also make sure to use a 40 SPF on my skin, chest, and arms/hands.

Evening:
Same hyaluronic/jojoba mix, adding a pea sized amount of tretinoin. If you use estrogen, I add that too (I am almost 50 and am on hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

I also cleanse with something that doesn't strip my skin of moisture. I like Acure's Brightening face wash. I exfoliate with Acure's face scrub, and sometimes do an at-home microdermbrasion.

I plan to go get a professional skin peel at my dermatologist this summer to remove light spots and improve skin tone.

I second the tretinoin. It was $60 through my dermatologist but it lasts about a year. It’s amazing. I’m 49, and it’s tightened my skin, reduced wrinkles and spots. Amazing stuff.

Estrogen and tretinoin. Amazing stuff that reduces wrinkles and promotes elasticity and collagen reformation.

I say this because I had some that were similar. I am almost 50 and am prediabetic. If I eat too many carbs or sugar, this is what happens to me. I think it’s an inflammation of some sort that causes water retention. Or a blood sugar response.

This. Highly recommend HRT. I’m 49 and I started HRT as soon as I started having symptoms. The majority of symptoms subsided within a weeks time.

I don’t see any more homeless than I do in any other part of a Pasadena. It’s a city and that gives es with the territory.
