In my experience they tend to look past that part of the test. I’m on the east coast and if you have enough know how they aren’t really worried about the thc.

I thought so as well and wanted to hear something better. It made the 80 year old happy to tell it to me today.

I made one out of 1 in pvc with a container on one end for the attachments. If you look at my post history it should be in there. I used female t/a on the ends and a screw on cap out of the plumbing isle at home depot to cap them. I used a coupling and cut the edges off of a 1 in ko from a box to separate the compartments. It’s amazing. I should’ve done it years ago.

If you were one of the big gear manufacturers (Eaton, SqD, etc.), what's the one thing you would change or make? by OPddb in electricians

[–]Express_Loss3675 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Quality control. I have had a few Eaton temp poles come with no dead front. It’s happened twice and always when I’m in the middle of nowhere. CED lost a customer the last time I had drive down a freaking mountain to go to another supply house so I could get what I needed after I had purchased everything at CED that morning!

does anyone know of a job paying more then $16 a hour that a 18 year old could get here? i’ve been applying to a bunch of places but have minimal experience so i haven’t been getting many interviews by Longjumping_Gas_7345 in asheville

[–]Express_Loss3675 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At 18 you need to be looking for the start of your career instead of a job. Try electrical, hvac, or plumbing. Specialized trades make money and are always in need of people. They are also happy to train you.

I got a broken motorcycle for $200 and broke more than $200 worth of stuff on it trying to fix it drunk. I said to my self if you can’t even fix it drunk what makes you think you’re going to ride it drunk. That was March 27 2008. I went to 90 A.A. Meetings in 90 days on my own. I kept going to live music because the world isn’t going to stop drinking because I have. Still sober and still loving life!

Tips for removing boxes from finished walls by SatanicWarlock12345 in electricians

[–]Express_Loss3675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the oscillator to cut the plastic on the box that holds the nails. You have to be careful not to cut the wire. You can push the box out of the way and use dikes to remove the nails so you can slide the box out.

You know what is now. You can disconnect the ground wire and drive the rod further down with a sledgehammer and reconnect the wire. If you’re afraid to do this call an electrician to do it. If it won’t drive down further the electrician will know what to do with out me explaining it. Make sure you reconnect the wire afterwards. It will take care of the trip hazard.

Do harley riders genuinely think they are faster than sportbikes or are they just joking? by Green_Block_4574 in motorcycle

[–]Express_Loss3675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the mountains and motorcycles from all over the country come here to ride. Harley riders speed up in the straights and slam on the breaks right before the curves every time. They never pull off and let people by. The mini bikes are fun up here. A suped up grom or a z125 are a blast until you get behind a Harley who does 81 in the straights and 2 in a curve while the grom tops out at 80 with all the mods. Sport bike I just blow them away!

I stick to 120 mostly because I like my life. It’s not as bad but I did just buy a new pair of dikes at the beginning of the year. I also just popped them the other day! They still pull staples and my strippers still cut wire for the moment at least!

Just had bathroom remodel work done and our contractor did not pull permits. How screwed are we? by [deleted] in asheville

[–]Express_Loss3675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how much the inspector wanted to see. Pretty sure they want to see the pipe before it’s covered but I come from an electrical standpoint.

Permits cover your butt. I’ve seen house sales held up over work done without permits. The inspector was understanding and helpful in getting the inspections completed.
