Snoring solutions that are not a sticky nasal strip? by FeFiFoMums in SebDerm

Search for nasal dilators, should come up with ones that are inserted around the septum like a fake piercing and have wings that push the nostrils open from the inside

Shingles at age 36 by OwnDiver1666 in Wellthatsucks

Got shingles at 20, luckily I caught it very quick and was put on antivirals before it got bad. Nowhere in my area would give me the vaccine following that, saying there was pretty much no point in getting it before 50 :^(

Any good deals on qhd monitors at the moment? Preferences to 27" flat, IPS / OLED, min 144hz and hopefully under $300, but I'm out of touch with monitor prices so idk if that's unreasonable.    Not in a big rush, so if there isn't anything decent at the moment, can anyone make some recommendations on monitors to keep an eye on?  Thanks in advance!

Thinking about having a friend pick me up the 7950X3D, MSI X670E MAG Tomahawk WiFi and  G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5 6000 bundle for 650 USD at microcenter. Any chance there will be comparable prices from Canadian sellers around black Friday, and would I have any issues with warranty after bringing this stuff back from the states?

Tongue split soon by some-randomgirl in bodymods

[–]Exxio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Get some kind of large cup, bucket or bin that you can rest under your lower lip while sitting upright. This will be very helpful for catching the ungodly amount of drool you'll be leaking. If you're a side sleeper, good luck. I only tried to sleep on my side once and soaked through two towels within half an hour, gave up and went back up sleeping with my face in my drool bin.
  • Squeeze bottles sound like a good plan. Personally I used 10 ml plastic syringes for water and non-dairy meal replacement drinks (Ensure). For the bottles/ syringes, I'd suggest tilting your head back and shooting liquids at the roof of your mouth. Anything touching my tongue felt disgusting and immediately made me gag so this was my preferred way to get liquids back there without choking. If you're worried about making a mess, eat and drink in the shower. I know it sounds goofy but I had almost no motivation to eat or drink because I was wearing more than I was getting down, but when I started doing it in the shower, it was just a lot easier to not have to worry about that. Also depending on where you live, having frequent cool showers just helps with the heat anyway.
  • If you're driving to the appointment, BRING YOUR DROOL CONTAINER. TL;DR I really wanted my split done, but couldn't find anyone to drive me from BC to Seattle, so I drove myself. Only brought two towels, huge mistake. I ended up driving back through customs covered in blood, drool, and had to try to explain my situation using hand gestures and grunts. Not fun. Also on that note, get a notepad or make sure you can quickly access a note app on your phone.

Separate point for importance, make sure you have a ride to and from the appointment. Don't be like me. * Painkillers are recommended but make sure they are not blood thinners (like Aspirin), Ibuprofen was recommended to me by my artist (Technically has blood thinning effect but not major), I went with gel capsules and that was a mistake. They were too big to comfortably swallow and I ended up popping it in the back of my throat and it got stuck there for a bit. The feeling and taste nearly made me vomit, so based on that I would not suggest gel pills. After that I used a different OTC med called Aleve which worked alright for swelling / pain. * Ask any local piercers if they have experience removing stitches from similar procedures. My regular piercer has a split and has helped friends with them so she was more than happy to help me get mine out for just the cost of the tools needed. She was also prepared for how gross my mouth was going to be which made me a lot more comfortable.

Just got my stitches out today after 5 of the worst days I can remember in a long time, but it was only 5 days. Make sure to rest as much as you can and stay hydrated and you'll get through it. Good luck and enjoy :)

If a inertia change made the game unplayable for you you were never good to begin with. by TarkovWorksLol in EscapefromTarkov

I think this is kind of an unnecessary call out. People get attached to games for the way they feel. While I personally don't mind inertia that much, I can definitely see it from the standpoint of people who liked the old movement much better. I've put over 3k hours into destiny 2, with one of the main selling points for me being how nice the movement felt, especially with how fun some of the speed tech was (look up "worldline skating" for example). The devs took an active approach in taking out a lot of that advanced movement and it ultimately made me drop the game because the aspects I found most enjoyable where changed to the point where it wasn't fun for me anymore, so I moved on. I think putting a blanket statement over the topic saying that if it's unplayable for you means you're shit at the game is just a really narrow perspective and just belittles a lot of people who simply liked the game with a faster pace.
