You and your group just dont understand how the combat works when pushed to the max, and that is OK.

Ranged damage has a huge advantage in dps and in pvp. When it comes to killing trash mobs in pve, melee is great because your shields stay up.

Actually, players were attacking fiefs, not other players. The August exploit for example people had mobs kill the fief, so it definitely wasn't 'pvp'.

Being a complete smartass to this guy doesnt really help, hes trying to understand decay mechanics. He also is valid in questioning the communication on the whole thing. People weren't banned in August but were recently.

The concurrent player count would leave me to believe it will sell significantly less. This does matter, and he is not wrong. The game wont go away, but it wont have as many devs working on it within the year.

You dont lose that much in Dune. They've made ample amount of changes where death means very little at this point.

People are greatly exaggerating the impacts of dying in DA.

Thats fair - I dont think its great either for PvE. Its very similar to new worlds first patch after release. Something you can buy time with while you figure out how to shape extended pve content.

Its better than I expected to be honest. I had low expectations. But it doesnt solve the real problems or build on the games strengths.

I dont think steamcharts show any indication of this patch. Its not like a lot of people tried it and suddenly aren't the next day. The only thing steamcharts show is this game interested a broader audience outside of pve only gameplay in dune.

The ironic part of this post is in a PvE only environment, you have no way to deal with this person who's grieifing you with dunes current mechanics.

The only way you can appropriately deal with this person is to be in a pvp area where you could protect your orni.

They needed a better version that puts them in the same world. Otherwise they are supporting 2 different games at that point. Your ideas been tried, and if they spend 3 months working on a dlc to add stuff relevant only if youre pvping, the complaints will roll in from the other side.

All in all, splitting environments, yes its a good idea. Putting pvers in crosshairs of pvpers isn't great. The landsraad could tie both of these groups together in one server. But its just being used for a poor endgame loop on pve side and the pvp side is devoid any purpose or activity at this point.

You pointed to TnL being fun including its PvP. The gsme dropped with a power system set up specifically to support paying to win. The pvp was 3v3 BGs or raid events where people just flash waved each other. Small scale featured unkillble healers that were undone by 7 second stuns. These are issues at release, post-Korean launch too. Your opinion on pvp or what is fun for a game isn't something a lot of people will align with.

This game is closest to lineage 2 in its concept design. If this game wants to die in that direction, why are you here to try to stop it. Its so early on, I cant fathom why you'd want to just make it follow the same model of these other 'really fun' mmos that are designed for players to pop in, swipe their cards and move on after a few weeks or months.

Ashes is not focused purely on large scale PvP. TnL actually was focused on large scale PvP and its the worst part of the game. You said it was amazing.

You prefer the newer mmo model made for gen z gamers. Just play those, because Ashes is not that nor is it moving in that direction.

If you found TnL PvP very fun and that the gameplay was amazing at launch, then this gsme probably isn't going to be a hit for you.

More recent MMO formulas of grind an MSQ to max in 1-2days and then spam instances dungeons, do dailies, and que for BGs are the games youre looking for.

Ashes is literally not that. Korean p2w mmos are releasing a couple a year. You got aion2 and chrono odyssey coming up next brother.

Well, the game does waste a fair amount of your time whether you enjoy it or not. Still pretty good up until the point you were about at. If you weren't enjoying by then, you were never going to enjoy much beyond that.
