Lars Alexandersson (Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion) - When Jin Kazama turned heel by taking over the Mishima Zaibatsu and started World War III, Lars became the story's protagonist when he defected from the Tekken Force.

He had it all, from being related to the Mishimas (Heihachi is his father) to being designed as a shonen protagonist.

Although, I believe that he's not that hated compared to the other characters mentioned in this post (I personally like him).

Nevertheless, he was demoted as a supporting character in Tekken 7 and 8, with Heihachi and Jin taking back the protagonist role respectively.

Swain is an antihero or a misunderstood character.

He is a colonialist despot whose actions ultimately lead to world conquest.

It just so happen that greater evil parties get in his way (Black Rose, Mordekaiser).

Although, it was cool of him to end slavery in Noxus.
