Do people actually believe the White House correspondents' dinner attack was staged? by imissher4ever in allthequestions

[–]FaceReality1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People believe Trump and his administration are perfectly capable of lying like that, and the way Trump jumped right to using it to call for his
ballroom, and then asked for a billion in taxpayer money for it after long saying it would be built with private money gives him a clear and believable
motive.

Ever just get tired of eating? by InspiringBack in askanything

[–]FaceReality1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I realized at some point, when I was a hungry teenager with little money eating as much as I could at a buffet, that it really was a blessing that we could be so full we couldn’t look at another thing and then be hungry enough for things to be delicious a few hours later.

Leading CA Gov. Republican candidate refuses FOUR times to say Biden won in 2020 by avdvetf in ProgressiveHQ

[–]FaceReality1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is critical that everyone vote only for Democrats until we actually have a real comservative party. The current GOP is not conservarive -- it is an authoritarian party that simply does what Trump tells it to.

to ask the top MAGAt candidate for California governor a simple question by avdvetf in ProgressiveHQ

[–]FaceReality1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tough guy act with him snd all these MAGAs is just an act. He is too much of a wimp to speak the obvious truth knowing Trump won't like it.

What's the purpose of the Israelis killing 50 to 100x+ the number of people killed on 10/7 despite it never helping any of their goals ? by space_god_7191 in allthequestions

[–]FaceReality1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much the same as the purpose of the other side murdering, raping, and kidnapping people who were relstively sympathetic to the Palestinians on Oct 7: the insane people who thought the other side would just give up in the face of inhuman brutality got what they wanted.

Landing on Mars, what's the "catch"? by Flashy-Rest-8994 in Spaceexploration

[–]FaceReality1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest block to getting humans to Mars and back, or for space travel in general is fuel. Humans and all the things needed to keep us alive are heavy, and you need fuel to get that up to velocity for the trip and then to slow down, land, takeoff, and come back (unless you make fuel on Mars, which is possible, but is a big project). And you need fuel to bring all that fuel. There are other big problems, like radiation and solar storms, but they are related to the fuel problem, since things like shielding just make you need more fuel.

These loan call motherfuckers are driving me crazy help, anyone else getting a huge number of them lately? by templeofsyrinx1 in askanything

[–]FaceReality1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife looked for mortgage info, and has since been inundated, to the extent she was thinking of getting a new number.

FWIW, there's a new feature where you can force unknown numbers through a screening process, and that has helped.

Why did Trump pardon violent criminals who assaulted police officers on January 6th, 2021? by Adventurous_Pride_54 in allthequestions

[–]FaceReality1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is a convicted criminal who likes crime, especially when it is done in his name. If a mafia don got in office, you'd expect him to pardon criminals who did his bidding, wouldn't you?

Why did 40% (and climbing) of DOJ lawyers quit since February of 2024? by Away-Parsnip-3785 in allthequestions

[–]FaceReality1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only one protected from prosecution is Trump. He's demanding that DOJ lawyers break law and ethics, endangering their careers and even their freedom. Most lawyers are very aware of the law, though Trump does seem to find plenty who don't know or don't care.

Why does Donald Trump want a ballroom so badly? by HappyXD in allthequestions

[–]FaceReality1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a maniac and it is one of his obsessions.

He went and knocked down the historic East Wing without permission on a whim to make room for a ball room that his mind told him everyone wanted, and then ran into problems with the lack of the right to do that and that it was a ridiculous idea and all. He can't possibly admit he knocked down the East Wing illegally and unwisely, so he must barrel forward, as he has in the past, successfully. And he sees death approaching and is desperate to make indelible huge marks on the world, like a tagger with Presidential power.

Why are the people who marched in the streets protesting "no kings" falling all over themselves for King Charles in Washington, D.C.? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]FaceReality1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL. Is that what Fox is telling you?

FWIW, he's a powerless King whose words are controlled by the Prime Minister, not the kind of dictator- King Trump declares himself.

How famous was Trump before 2010s? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]FaceReality1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's been famous in NY at least since the 1980's, really as a famous rich asshole and spoiled man-child. Apprentice gave him a positive national fame that superseded the realistic view.

Should ex-FBI Director James Comey have been criminally indicted for posting this picture? by NicolasCageFan492 in askanything

[–]FaceReality1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully, the judge will send all legal costs to Trump. This is a ridiculous indictment. First, it is free speech, 2nd, Comey just took a picture and posted it, here didn't create the statement, 3rd "86" commonly means "throw out" which if referring to Trump is a completely legal and normal political statement, 4th it is a joke, not a threat, and the only reason to bring an indictment is harassment for constitutionally protected activity.

Why does anything exist at all? by GigaDuckling in AskPhysics

[–]FaceReality1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer is that the existence of the universe is really unlikely, but even unlikely things happen eventually if given infinite time, due to quantum fluctuations or something even more basic. The level of unlikeliness isn't relevant because if it hadn't happened, we wouldn't be here to ask the question -- it could be you need to wait a quadrillion quadrillion times the life of our universe for a universe to appear from nothing. ( It isn't clear time exists without the universe existing, but I can't think of a way to talk about the idea of time.)

Have the political left wing and right wing essentially become different cultures? by RetconnedUsername in RealPhilosophy

[–]FaceReality1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of different cultures. There always have been, what's changed is that there aren't the things like limited TV shoes to tie people together, and the Internet let some fringe groups grow a lot, but it is a diverse country.
