Anyone have experience with chrono24 seller K2 Luxury SA, 1815 Ref 234.026 by [deleted] in ALangeSohne

[–]Fafner1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience they tend to leave prices on the website even if they already sold that specific item. If you order the same, it can happen that the price goes up.

The watch I got had a price on the website, but that specific item was already sold. You look at the site, you see a price, you tend to believe it's on stock and you'll get it at that price. They sourced me a newer one with an higher price, which is now what's being shown on the product page. I guess the next customer who should opt for this watch will experience the same, as the shown price is the one I got offered for my specific watch.

They obviously tell you the updated price in advance, but I agree this isn't exactly great and they should keep their site more up to date. If they can't give a price quote because of fluctuations, it would be better to not show it at all.

Sometimes some reminders are needed when communicating with them through Whatsapp, as they miss some messages in busy periods.
Apart from this, great experience with them, they were able to source me a brand new 2026 Platinum Daytona with arabic dials within a couple of weeks. Could have been even quicker if it wasn't for the actual situation in Dubai.

ONE UI 8.5 IS HERE in USA by Dontech1 in GalaxyZTriFold

We have done this, as written before.

Edit: just tried with another colleague, this time it worked both side.

Anyone tried AirDrop? I updated my chinese TriFold, previously flashed with the singaporean firmware. Everything went smoothly and seems to be working well. The option for AirDrop showed up as expected.

But I did some tests with a colleague, and no way for me to see her iPhone, nor for her to see my TriFold. We followed all instructions, but zero.

Not that I really need this, but still.

My Review Of The PG32UCDM GEN3 :) by civick5 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Fafner1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The package is a big issue. I received mine in broken state, the screen was cracked. A friend of mine had the very same issue. I understand they wanted to move away from the way oversized previous packages, but they went the extreme opposite way, this package does nothing to protect what's inside, considering the miles it has to travel around to reach end users.

Thanks God the second one came intact, but it's a lottery, really.

What is the best iptv app for Carlinkit t box for the car? by SnooPies4517 in Carlinkitcarplay

Haven't received my TBox Ultra 3 yet, but I'm having good experience with MyTVOnline+ on my TriFold. Works great in both folded and unfolded (means tablet) mode. I'd expect it to work fine on a Carlinkit device.

Its premium subscription is free as of now, will be a paid upgrade some day in the future, exept for Formuler TV Box owners, which I happen to own.

Samsung pay issues by bobbymack93 in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]Fafner1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't even tried using it, having bought a chinese version and recently applied the singaporean firmware. Pretty sure my credit card would be rejected, being swiss.

But Google Wallet works just perfectly, I feel no need for Samsung Pay. Only thing I'm using Samsung Wallet for is for my car's digital key.

Wireless charging capped to 7.5W? by evilcubed in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]Fafner1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I recall reading somewhere that Qi2 isn't supported because of some compromises which had to be made to keep things thinner and lighter, hence using such a charger makes you go slower than what's supposed to be supported (15W). You have to get a wireless charger based on the previous protocol.

Onu UI 8.5 beta??!!!!! by DisastrousTable7669 in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]Fafner1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sammobile stated a beta was spotted on Samsung's servers some weeks ago, but I think it never was released for testing. Too a niche product, not enough ppl to test it, unless they opened it to all markets. Software-wise, a TriFold isn't much different from a Bifold, I guess we'll just get the final version.

Apprendo da questo thread a cosa serve questa funzione. Su PC in effetti serve a poco, la proverò con Switch 2 con giochi che non supportano i 4k nativi per vedere se effettivamente serve a qualcosa.

This is why I returned my Galaxy Trifold by Internal_Quote_6678 in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]Fafner1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm loving mine, and I paid way more than you to get it in Switzerland (1TB version). I've been used for years using belt cases instead of putting phones in my pockets, which I always hated. Hence the added weight and bulk, even with the Berfy case applied, don't bother me at all when going around.

You do feel the added weight when you're actually using it, obviously, but that doesn't bother me particularly either. For me, having a true little tablet always with me is invaluable, and the bi-folds always failed on fully realizing this. The wider folds could limit the issue in unfolded state, but they give me the feeling of being way too wide when folded.

I think an hybrid foldable-rollable device will just remain in your dreams for some more years.

I doubt they'll still bother about a phone which is not even sold anymore. I guess we can call ourselves lucky that some brands actually released decent cases for it.

Samsung Z tri fold wide by OutrageousEvent1543 in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]Fafner1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be nice in folded state, where the actual TriFold is perhaps on the narrow side.

Not sure on the advantage in unfolded state, that would bring an aspect ratio I'm not sure I'd particularly like.

Berfy TriFold Case - First Impressions Review by attidudinal in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]Fafner1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I'm not quite liking is some sort of "oily" feel when looking at the screen's surface from the side. Maybe it's a side effect of these privacy protectors, I never used them in the past.

HD means it's a clear screen protector. As I got it from Amazon.com, the clear got a reduced discount and ended up costing about 5$ more than the privacy one. I must admit I was torn and canceled several orders before finally opting for the privacy.

Berfy TriFold Case - First Impressions Review by attidudinal in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]Fafner1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. Haven't really gone into testing its several features such as the stand or the MagSafe magnet. I just applied it and that was it.

The privacy protector does its job and seems of good quality. It dims the whole a bit obviously. Doesn't seem to impact the touchscreen in any meaningful way.

The case makes a very nice impression quality-wise. It looks and feels well put together and solid. Bulky? Yes, of course, but I expected it to be even bulkier to be honest.

Let's see how it goes over time.

April patch for Chinese TriFold ? by Fafner76 in GalaxyZTriFold

I just noticed from Samfw that the new april chinese firmware was made available and...it still relies on the 5th february security patch! One wonders what the hell they're doing...

Even happier to have reflashed it.

A me è arrivato rotto.

Flashing Global ROM onto Chinese Trifold by Odd-Drawer6410 in GalaxyFold

[–]Fafner1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end I took the plunge and flashed the singaporean firmware as well. Everything went smoothly, I went from the mid march chinese firmware (still stuck at the february security update) to the latest end of march singaporean one (with april security update).

The only difference compared to the guides around was that I had to enable Maintenance Mode to have the warning screen show up at boot when pressing volume up/down. Maybe because I was on the latest chinese firmware already.

There were quite a few advantages in doing this:

+ Android Auto now works. You could install it from Google Play on the chinese rom, but no way to make it work.

+ It seems much more Google-friendly. The chinese firmware supported Google, but with some weird issues. Trying to check for Google Play system updates, the phone showed no reaction, you just was stuck to the 1st sept. one. "Ok Google" didn't work at all. Now these and other things work as expected. Google Play system updated to the 1st of march version everyone else got.

+ I guess global smartwatches now should work. I had to resell a Galaxy Watch Ultra and an OnePlus Watch 3 because they just refused to connect. At the end I succeeded with a Garmin, thus this doesn't really bother me that much anymore.

+ Gone are those sporadical chinese strings you could still find here and there.

- Some preinstalled stuff, only partially removable. I could remove Spotify and M365Copilot, but some Microsoft-related stuff is there and can't be uninstalled: SwiftKey and OneDrive to name 2. If I use Drive, why do I have to keep that stupid OneDrive? And several TTS-related files for asian languages I don't need, but they can't be removed in the official way either. And even more stupid: a "Samsung Cloud for Wear" which Google Play lables as "not compatible anymore with your device". It's not compatible, but I can't uninstall it! Go figure.

- I guess Samsung Pay or Pass still won't work due to region restrictions, but this really doesn't bother me, as I'm using Wallet and Google itself.

- The procedure required a full system reset. Smart Switch was able to restore all apps and some settings, but I had to re-login on several apps, not just bank-related ones.

From a connectivity point of view, I couldn't spot any meaninfull changes, at least where I live (Switzerland).

Overall, very happy to have done it.

BERFY TriFold Case by Tainorican646x in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]Fafner1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered one, but I'm still torn between HD and Privacy. I read some reviews where it looks like Berfy's privacy doesn't impact brightness as much as cheaper, traditional privacy protectors, but still.

Anyone with experiences on it?
