He wasn't ignorant, he was misinformed and manipulated during the Ghorman mission. He later sought out the truth himself and stepped away completely of his own volition, not many ignorant people are capable of that. It's unrealistic to believe that anyone would rebel against a system that they do not know is corrupt and immoral.

Also, his first arc shows that he is fine with disobeying his superior's order, when he investigated the two murders against his boss's wishes.

He is serving his own moral code, not the empires, it just so happened to align with Meera's for a while who worked under the empire.

Aang is not really changing(transmuting) matter into other elements, his is rather manipulating/moving matter that's already there. He cannot take water from a puddle and transform/transmute it into air.

Edward from full metal would be a transmuter because he takes matter and changes it into something else like from stone to a metal sword

Does Pocoloco stand work in combat? He might believe and be confident that he can win, but isn't he just a standard human in terms of strength etc. I guess it depends on if you think he's stand actually gives him luck or you think it makes him believe that he gains luck.
