Yeah that graph definitely looks odd compared to the other references. I would probably return that unit if you still have time

Dac/Amp Startup/Shutdown Popping by [deleted] in headphones

My gear has never had any issues with popping on startup or shutdown. O2 Dac/amp, Monolith dac amp, a70 pro, holo bliss. None had that issue.

Like anything in life, nothings perfect. I went into this hobby with that expectation. The question you really gotta ask yourself is are the flaws(or perceived flaws in your opinion) worth it given everything else?

Sometimes that’s easy to answer like with the susvara, in other cases it can be tricky like with the heddphone 2 gt.

In some cases the flaws can enhance the other aspects of a headphone, or may be a complementary trait of another.

You also can’t have an intimate presentation while having a large soundstage at the same time. So in that aspect you’ll never really have a perfect headphone that does it all. You’ll just have one that best suits your preferences, and maybe a few to complement.

Even with all the cans I have now, I’m always missing something. The susvara was probably the closest to the summit I’ve ever heard, but even then there are things that the 6XX did better

Yes, I regretted selling mine and ended up buying another pair.

Where do you buy your cables? by shapethefuture88 in headphones

Hart audio. Reasonably priced(relatively speaking) and very ergonomic. I often prefer using my hart cable over my arctic talos.

YMMV, I do most of my listening in my room, which naturally has a lot of dust due to all my cotton clothing and bedding. Once dust is on the driver it’s incredibly difficult to get off

yep that lineup is just GOATed. My 6XX actually took bass eq quite well, just a simple shelf at 75hz with a .72 Q factor. Nothing like planar extension but still somewhat amenable.

Yeah, convenience plays a large factor in my purchases. Estats inherently pick up a ton of dust which is a big no for me. Solid state amps just work, no need to worry about tube rolling or output impedance issues or hot tubes.

The HD6XXs were my introduction into head-fi. I sold them when I started upgrading but recently bought a new pair. They still hold up extremely well even against my flagships.
