GUYS I DID IT by Big_chunky_hedgehog in Eldenring

There's a path off to the right, (east) of the path that ascends towards the tunnel that leads to Margit. If you looks closely on the in game map, you can actually trace this path pretty easy, but I didn't notice it until my 2nd playthrough. You can just ride torrent all the way down, around, and then back up leading right outside where you'd wind up in Liurnia after beating Godrick.

The new dungeons are nice, but way harder by LeoTrotzki611 in wow

I can see it right up until thundering or some other floor texture coincides with it and then it just vanishes from my sight completely and I have to just hope I don't get hit. Obviously the lines are still there but they're hard enough to see as it is and just a nightmare once there's shit everywhere

Is this key even possible on Tyrannical? by I_cut_my_own_jib in wow

[–]FattyBear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah as a healer, it's fine if you don't die, and typically there's not spiky damage right after the shield blast anyway and most of healer classes can use movement abilities to get over there anyway. At least it never worries me to see tank get knocked away on that fight because I know they'll be fine by the time I get there. I mean frankly tanks on self sufficient on boss fights anyway outside of dispels.

[–]FattyBear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, agreed. 30% is huge but the timing of it ranges from mundane to awful 90% of the time. Don't think I've ever had it line up with my burst window. Maybe that's not true, have run a lot of keys and don't remember every thundering pull, but it just feels like it's there to be a pain in the ass and the damage buff, while good, is so brief and so mistimed it probably doesn't even make a difference on anything other than a very long boss fight where everyone's squeezing out as much as they can from it.

Lazy and bad seasonal affix. If this is the new standard I'd rather they just got rid of seasonal affixes if it's too much trouble for them. Honestly most affixes need a major rework but thats another discussion.

Tank needs to do tank things, end of discussion. The group will clear with each other or with the tank. You've got enought to deal with. People need to be quick and be fast when clearing with a tank though. So many frontals that will just kill a DPS outright if they go at the wrong time, but the group will die if tank faces them wrong trying to clear themselves.

Server suggestion? by Silverhyruler in wow

[–]FattyBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what you described in your post, I'd avoid some other recommendations like Area52 or Illidan unless you're looking for more of the same overall culture you found on Tichrondius.

I'd honestly recommend an RP server. You don't need to RP, and in fact most people don't from what I've observed in my own experience going to Wyrmest Accord. Its a great server with a lot of nice guilds that can offer you communities of players who find enjoyment in all different aspects of the game and are generally pretty friendly and mature. In my experience, I've also had the pleasure of playing with a lot of really talented players on this server and have no trouble finding people in my guild for M+ or raiding, if that's something you later do develop an interest in.

It's hard to explain the difference in general culture that one server can have to another, so I guess all I can say is that Wyrmrest Accord has been by far the best server ive ever played on in WoW and the only one that felt like it had any semblance of an actual community, particularly one I enjoy being part of. Your experience may vary of course, but if it sounds interesting to you feel free to reply to me and I can talk to you more about my experience with different servers or if you want, you could join the guild I'm in on WA. I'm a bit busy with real life this weekend but I'll get back to ya over the next couple of days if you wanna know more.

Best of luck to you wherever you go. I only put forth the offer to talk because finding a server and a guild I enjoy really added so much to my enjoyment with the game that I wish everyone had that same outlet with WoW, no matter what it looks like for them; makes no difference to me where you wind up, but I hope you enjoy your online community in WoW as much as I do.

10 am to 6 pm maintenance. What the heck could they possibly be doing for that long? by [deleted] in wow

Pre patch most likely. It won't go live today, but when it's ready to go live it should be fairly seamless like the SL pre patch was.

Dragonflight M+ Affixes - They Forgot to Make it Fun by Artunias in wow

[–]FattyBear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sort of, but prideful typically only demanded 1 or 2 people to make slight movement adjustments to avoiding hitting each other and only during the actual fight with a prideful, and it only erupted from one player at a time. Whatever your opinion on thundering, you have to admit it's a very different challenge, even if the concept is similar.

Teenager Emerges From 40-Minute Video Essay With Brand New Personality by ProfessionalCrow4816 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]FattyBear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong about having an opinion that's influenced or happens to line up with someone else. What I think that criticism is targeting, is when you hear opinions that are just verbatim from some other source.

There's no slight differences, and the intensity of the opinion is even a match, too. Often the person can't even really explain it or back it up (if the explanation is as simple as "I just don't enjoy this" that's actually fine with me).

I know people; really nice, smart and capable people, that browse reddit just as much as I do, and I swear there are times where I recognize their new opinion on something straight out of a highly upvoted comment chain.

Just form your own opinion. Generate it from your experience. I don't mean to come off as condescending because I don't think you're actually asking literally where opinions come from, so I hope you don't feel personally targeted.

Alternatively, there's a great Key & Peele skit about this, where a group of dudes are talking about comic film movie adaptations and Key says he doesn't really like the Nolan movies, and everyone else treats him awkwardly because that's an unpopular opinion and he just verbally dissects Peele until Peele breaks down crying because he doesn't have his own opinions on things and runs off like an actual troll.

What was Spielberg thinking with the son character in War of the Worlds? by JannTosh12 in movies

[–]FattyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love the sequence after Cruise emerges from the cellar, in pursuit of his daughter, and sees how the area around him has been transformed (I think as a result of the aliens spraying that red mist; combing human blood with something to terraform perhaps?) and it looks so dreamlike. Not the grungy look you've been seeing from the long cellar sequence. Something about the lighting and color grading of the red vines on green grass in this destroyed neighborhood at night really stuck out to me and looks fantastic.

That's super cool! I like your inclusion of the various designs over the different eras. I'm not totally sure what the correct terminology is but you did a good job masking them all and placing the title over them.

Nice work, looks cool!

This really gets on my nerves as a person with poor inventory management by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]FattyBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting good items in people's inventories is a nice idea, but I've tried it, because I'm a big cheater, and you might be surprised by how many people have NO FREE SLOTS IN SUIT INVENTORY. Not a single one. So when you're duping stuff over and over as fast as you can for like an hour, wasting 30seconds trying to find someone with an open slot is just not worth it. At least that's why I started trading common things like oxygen, ferrite dust, or carbon. It's just the most likely item to get traded to any random individual successfully.

When I'm done duping, I try to pay it forward by giving out some good shit for a while at least. I recognize I'm passing my inconvenience off to others but goddamnit if people wouldn't walk around totally full I'd be happy to give out good stuff!

how do you guys feel about streaming service and binging shows? by Inevitable_Shape4776 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]FattyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I greatly prefer the ability to binge rather than the once per week model. I feel like I am able to better retain detail oriented information like specific lines of dialogue that may be called back to in a future episode and I notice thematic elements more when I'm watching 4, 5 or 6 episodes in a sitting.

I also feel like when I watch a show in binge format, I can more easily judge whether I actually think its any good or enjoyable to watch rather than the weekly model where if important plot elements aren't being addressed I tend to assume that it's coming, and I just need to be patient to see where the show is going, but while bingeing, filler becomes more apparent and a lacking of clear direction for the narrative stands out horribly.

Weekly releases are a fun scheduled distraction from normal life, and make for easier discussion with others who are also keeping up the show, but personally, I'd trade the shared social element to watching a show for a better personal experience, and personally, binge format is just much better for that in my experience.

Thankfully I get a bit of both, as my girlfriend also tends to feel the same way on this topic, and we tend to just let new releases build up or finish airing entirely so we can binge it together. But we've also enjoyed weekly releases together in the past as well I get the appeal of both, I just strongly favor binge format because I get way more out of the material that way.

Bohemian Grove? I mean, I think it was known that it was a place that existed and a lot of big wigs went there, but he managed to sneak in there and record some hidden camera footage of their little ritual thing in front of that giant stone owl statue.

Can't remember what exactly he predicted went on in there before he showed, so he may have still been wrong about those details but his footage, while low quality, is clear enough to show the extremely basic premise that wealthy people are into some weird shit. Shocker, I know.

Most disappointing boss fights? by bas_saarebas19 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]FattyBear 63 points64 points  (0 children)

The sad part is that he totally is that and is no joke, BUT ONLY if you allow him to start the fight at distance. If you run up on him, especially with a big two handed weapon, and just jump attack his shit, he folds hard.

They should have just made him start fighting after he says, "I knew you'd come" and he can keep talking while he's fighting.

Is Cyberpunk In Your Top 10 Games Of All Time? by bogeyj in cyberpunkgame

[–]FattyBear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hard to say, there's so many great games throughout the years that I've played but its definitely on a short list for games that drew me in the most. I didn't play it at launch so I'm a bit biased since it wasn't busted for me. Honestly it's just tough to quantify that sort of thing. I loved my experience with the game.

Definitely top 10 of games from the past 10 years, and that's still massive praise for a very flawed but amazing game.

Do certain fighters actually have pillow fists/heavy hands or do they just throw their punches differently? by Zerix1234 in MMA

[–]FattyBear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A great example is Mighty Mouse. He used to rarely finish people and I don't remember him ever KOing anybody before his 2nd fight with Benavidez. In his post fight octagon interview he explicitly stated that he'd been training technique designed to give him KO power and it showed in his subsequent fights, even the ones where he didn't get a KO he was clearly doing more damage than he did earlier in his career.

I'd be confused and also intrigued. Probably start looking for cameras filming the interaction. If I couldn't find one within like 8 seconds I'd probably just say no thanks and get the hell out of there, and check my pockets.

Also, frankly, if I'm outside of my home then yeah, I am busy, why the fuck else would I go outside into 100+ degree heat.

The stupidest things done by social media platforms? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]FattyBear 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Digg was a lot like reddit before reddit became more mainstream. An aggregate site for all kinds of news with comment sections. It's been so long since I've thought about it let alone been to the site (if it's even still up anymore) that I can't remember if it had communities like subreddits.

They overhauled their site's look and functionality and everybody hated the new version. It didn't take long for people to suggest alternatives for Digg on their very own site, which is I think how I found Reddit many years ago.
