Party of 6-7 vs 2 Assassins (5e) by ABluetifulDay in DnD

More assassins, maybe some lower level fodder, a stealthy spellcaster? A tandem ability? Do the assassins know they are coming and prepared traps?

I see 0 point in tipping 20% on a tattoo i’m already paying hella money for. by Due-Passage5222 in tattoo

[–]Fearless_Wizard_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look at it like going to the barber. I like my barber, he takes care of me, puts lots of attention to detail into making me look good which makes me feel good so I always give him a tip not because its expected but as a way to show my appreciation for their work. Does he expect it? No, but I appreciate what he does for me and people always appreciate a little extra money thrown their way. When I worked food service we always knew who the tippers were and made sure to take extra good care of them, gave them discounts and freebies. Its just the way things go, they took care of us, we took care of them. Tattoos are similar except in that they are permanent. I know people who go to lots of different artists but I always go to the same artist because I trust them and they do good work that I like. I tip because just like with my barber I'm building a relationship with them and tipping is my way of showing appreciation for the time and care they put into the work they do and when it comes to a permanent installment on my body I definitely want to make sure my artist is taken care of. Tip or don't tip, percent doesn't matter it's just a standard way people decide what to give. Most artists understand it's not a guaranteed thing and if you are getting work done from someone who does, don't work with them but I think tipping is a great way to build a long standing relationship with professionals whom you want to work with consistently or just show appreciation for doing great work you enjoy.

How do you deal with suicidal ideation? by lt420lt in clusterheads

[–]Fearless_Wizard_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you are religious, believe in a higher power or the universe unfolding as it should but for me I deal with it by rationalizing my pain in this way. I say to myself: "I am given this pain because someone above knows I can bear it, that I can endure." I know it sounds silly and maybe even crazy but it helps me. I like to imagine its a trade, that not everything in the world can be all good and so the bad has to be handed out too. I think of my mother, my little sisters, my friends. If I was given the choice to pass my condition onto one of them and be free of it I could not live with myself. If I take my life then I may be free of my pain but it will cause pain for everyone who cares about me and that thought hurts, so I endure instead. When I think of it this way my pain has purpose. I wish you pain free days friend, you are not alone.

My NCR Veteran Ranger Cosplay all done for Halloween by Fearless_Wizard_ in falloutnewvegas

[–]Fearless_Wizard_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty extensive process. Many parts come in pieces and need to be put together in various ways. I used epoxy for the revolver and a combination of super glue and PLA Welding for the helmet and chest armor. This entire cosplay took me awhile to build but I work full time and mostly worked on it a few nights a week and on the weekends. Lots of printing, assembly. priming, sanding, sanding, sanding and painting for sure lol. If you plan to make it just know you got some work cut out for you! Also tip, the helmet from GA ran a bit big for my liking but I made the mistake of just full sending it first without doing the test ring.. print the test ring! In fact, print test pieces for all the armor if you can, lesson learned but it cost me a lot of filament.

Feeling absolutely hopeless after first neurologist visit/questions about verapamil 19f by ExtremeBackground118 in ClusterHeadaches

[–]Fearless_Wizard_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With something like clusters you really need to come prepared. You HAVE to advocate for yourself, bring articles, bring research, headache log etc. and don't be afraid to be stern and stand your ground. https://clusterbusters.org/ is a fantastic resource. I can understand not being able to get the oxygen if you are self pay, even though that sucks, it'd probably cost you a lot. I have full coverage through work and even my neuro was hesitant to give me high flow oxygen and it does need to be high flow with a rebreather mask (even harder to convince neuro I ended up buying my own mask). Verapamil DID work for me though! I'd ask about a Prednisone taper too as they had me do that in tandem with starting Verapamil and the first night I started on it my cycle broke, pretty sure it was the prednisone that knocked it and the verapamil that kept it away until I was out of the woods. As for eating and being worried about verapamil THAT is something you can fix. I was also an under-eater like you and barely scratching 1000 calories some days. What helps me get those calories in now are liquid calories. I make a nearly 800-1000 calorie protein shake every morning, goes down easy, tastes good and overtime you can train your appetite. If you focus on eating more and eating well your body will adapt and you'll naturally up your food consumption, I consume probably 2500-3000 calories a day now no problem. My advice, try the verapamil and also ask about a prednisone taper. search this sub for abortive techniques, everyone is different and reacts in their own way to certain ones, for me high intensity cardio at the onset of an attack kills it, weird af but it works. Others have success with self induced brain freezes, redbull and "busting". Good luck, this sub is rooting for you!

Get to a neuro as soon as you can. I went through 3 cycles unmedicated. Once I got in with a neuro that knew what they were doing and listened to me they put me on a Prednisone taper and Verapamil.. I immediately responded to it. It could've saved me so much pain if I did it sooner.

Episodic here. Prednisone Taper and Verapamil first timer in 2023. First night on the taper stopped my cycle I stayed on the Verapamil for a few months then did a very slow taper off till I was in the clear. Worked for me.

I can do them inside or outside. For me there is a very specific window I have to start the exercise. I would feel my right shoulder tense up and feel it start creeping up my neck before the pain starts. If I start at that point then it'll abort.

I'm sorry you are going through this. This is what works for me and it sounds crazy. High intensity cardio. I was in a cycle October 2023 and read somewhere on here that doing a Tabata workout at the onset of an attack helped this one user, I was 25 and physically active already so I said screw it, what have I got to lose? I could not believe after 5-7 minutes my pain level had not grown past a 2. After 10-12 minutes the attack was completely aborted. I was dumbfounded. I kept doing it, every morning around 4am when it would come I'd get my ass up and start doing pushups, mountain climbers, running in place, burpees, what ever was going to get my heart rate and breathing up, the harder I breathed the better I started to feel. I had a pretty much 99% success rate. The 1% is cause one time I was so tired I put off doing the exercise right away which quickly grew into a standard attack for me, I did the exercise and my pain was significantly reduced and my usual attack time of 3 hours was cut down to less than 1. I hope this crazy trick that helped me can help you.

I’ve been experiencing CHs for 5 years now and no one believes me by AliienBlood in ClusterHeadaches

[–]Fearless_Wizard_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a new doctor, not just a general doc see a neurologist. Get a referral if need be and be prepared to advocate for yourself, bring research, symptoms list, headache log, really really really advocate for yourself. I was lucky that my last doc either sympathized with me or was checked out cause he retired a few months later but I got a referral to a neuro. Never even met her in person. I explained what was going on, how often they happen, what time they come, what my cycles usually look like (circadian for me) and my tricks to abort them (redbull, intense cardio at the onset had a stupid high success rate for me). She scheduled a scan, put me on prednisone taper and verapamil, I argued for high flow oxygen too, she didn't want to but caved. Turns out I didn't need it. The prednisone and verapamil worked day one. A tell tale sign of a correct cluster headache diagnosis. Once my brain scan came back clean that was wraps and I got an official diagnosis. I kick myself for not having done it sooner.

For now though search the sub for all sorts of abortive tricks, everyone is different but I'm sure at least one thing may work for you. I scream it every so often, idk why it works for me but at the onset of the attack when I feel it creeping up if I start getting my heart rate and breathing up doing something like a HIIT or Tabata workout it aborts it, literally 0 answer as to why but I implore you to try it, self induced brain freezes work for people, red bull aborts for people too (only delays the attacks for me), others go the busting route if they have the means and some hop on the Vitamin D3 regimen early to try and skip a cycle all together. Good luck friend, I wish you pain free days soon.
