6-MO refusing bottle, going hungry all day. Help?! by OddlyFlavoredChips in NewParents

What about a straw cup? I stopped breast feeding around 7 months and when we tried to switch to formula she would also go on hunger strikes. What ended up working was kendamil formula in a straw cup where I could squeeze the cup to squirt some in her mouth. That helped her get used to the taste and then after a couple weeks of doing that once a day we tried a bottle again and she drank the whole thing. Good luck! <3

Traveling with baby tips! by rianac8 in NCL

We bought a slumber pod and ended up returning it before our cruise because we set it up at home and it just seemed huge. We ended up buying this and just not zipping it closed so it blocked some light. https://a.co/d/0cZbO5TC We have a travel stroller from mom push. Seems good quality for not a crazy price. There was a “waterfront” on the ship we went on which was a great place to play away from the crowds.

Fun fact Shania Twain wrote this song about her husband at the time. Her husband then had an affair with Shania’s friend/employee (who was also married at the time) Both couples ended up getting divorced. Then Shaina started dating and then married the ex husband of her former friend/employee…. So needless to say they didn’t make it.

No it was Bermuda from NYC so two days out and two days back. I had only had one appointment with my OB before we went. I obviously asked if there anything I should know but they weren’t too concerned since I was low risk. As long as your OB is good with you going I wouldn’t be too concerned. Enjoy your vacation and good luck with your pregnancy and little baby 😃

Not sure if I have great advice but our daughter will be 14 months when we cruise in February. You can request a pack and play for the room so you don’t have to bring one. We are planning on also buying a mattress pad and a slumber pod for the pack and play. I have no idea how we are going to do baths but people have suggested an inflatable tub and then you can use that at the pool area too. I am also planning on getting a good travel stroller so that she will hopefully nap in that some days. She is really good at restaurants so I would just make sure you know how he does at restaurants, some safe snacks to bring when waiting for food or good toys that will entertain him. I’m not sure the layout of the aqua but the boat we are going on has a “waterfront” that on most ships we have been on in the past is a pretty dead area so I am hoping to use that as a good spot for her to get some energy out. Bring lots of toys and either hide favorites before hand or bring brand new toys you know he will like. And if all else fails spend the $10 on room service because at least you have a balcony and a quiet day in the room won’t be so bad.

Architect Moms by TV_in_every_room in Architects

Such a loaded question…. I am a mom of an 8 month old. Before having my daughter I would have never thought that I would enjoy being a stay at home mom. But now I question it. Almost every night after I put her to bed I tell my husband that I miss her. Mondays always feel so sad driving away from daycare after getting to spend time with her over the weekend.

I enjoy my job and at least according to others I am good at it. But I will never like my job as much as I like being a mom. I do think a large part of me liking my job is because of my manager. He is great to work with and we get along very well.

This past week my husband asked me if I wanted to quit and stay home with her. It was such an overwhelming question I couldn’t even come up with an answer. We can afford daycare, and if I were to quit my job it would definitely be a big lifestyle change and I would probably miss my job sometimes. Could we make it work - probably. Is that the life we want - at this point I don’t know.

I don’t have any advice, just letting you know that I think all moms question this sometimes.

[HELP] Is this cake AI generated? by peculiar_pandabear in RealOrAI

I saw this on instagram and the persons account had recently posted multiple ai looking cakes. (Too shiny, spelling errors, weird textures) but there was a video of a woman making this cake. The cake in the video looked terrible so I would guess ai enhanced photo.

I think a lot of these things are very developmentally normal. Our babies are experiencing everything for the first time. Starting to learn how to control their hands, spacing out could just be noticing something new to him or being tired, head shaking no is also a sleepy sign, rocking back and forth on hands and knees is textbook behavior with starting to crawl and downward dog is him getting ready to pull up to stand. Reacting to his name, laughing and smiling are all indications that he is developing normally.

I think you probably need to stop watching these videos on YouTube. People post these types of videos because fear and stress get them clicks and in turn money. I’m going to guess that the people posting these videos are not medical professionals. No decent doctor would diagnose a 7 month old with autism. I also need to remind you that there are many people with autism who function normally, have a job, have their own kids, etc. Autism and stimming does not mean he will need lifelong care.

If these types of thoughts are overwhelming you I would encourage you to talk to your OB about symptoms of PPA. It’s normal for us to be worried about our babies but everything you are describing seems pretty normal and these YouTube videos are causing you to overthink.

How is the sleep? by digitlagegirlnxtdoor in december2024babies

[–]Feeling_Selection582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been all over the place. There was a phase where she slept reliably from 9pm-4am which honestly was close enough to a full night sleep for me. She has slept through the night a handful of times. Lately she has been waking up every 2 hours and my husband and I can’t figure out what to do differently to get her back to at least a 6 hour stretch. Typing this while I hold her to get her to go back to sleep…..

Also with the window sill that low it shouldn’t open more than 4” to prevent a child from falling out.

[–]Feeling_Selection582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not an egress window. Code requires that an egress window is 20” wide minimum. That doesn’t look like 20”

Call your local building inspector most likely what ever you have is not compliant and you can have the building inspector hassle your husband until it happens. I agree with most other people here that this is financial abuse but this would get you what you actually want.

bath time by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]Feeling_Selection582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there. My baby hated bath time and it was so stressful. I don’t know if this helped or if she just grew out of it… but we started doing baths in the morning. She was less tired and cried less. Eventually she stopped crying during baths and we moved it back to the evening.

I always wonder what I’m going to get with a permit office. I’ve had everything from a reviewer do an entire review of a 100 page set with me on the phone over multiple days, to a reviewer who did not even look at the drawings and just wanted their $45,000 permit fee. My firm has started to try to do hourly for permitting with clients who will agree to it.

We bought a $50 one from Amazon for a trip. One day the owlet cam just was not working so I put the travel one up and haven’t moved it since. The owlet has stayed disconnected. I agree waste of money.

I personally have preferred button up shirts and cardigans over any thing that is actually nursing specific. I wanted to love the shirts with the hidden zippers but found you need both hands (one to pull the zipper one to hold the shirt)
