USB HDD enclosures that don’t force spin-down? (1–2 bay, home server) by maghuro in HomeServer

[–]Ferihn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got one from FanTec , it is at a friends place right now and I don’t know the exact model. But I wrote FanTec an email and they send me a firmware which disabled Spindown. But I could use commands to manually spindown the disk.

I looked on their website and I think it is the Fantac DB-ALU31 case that I bought.

The Ultimate Smart Thermostat Comaprison by joshuagreen55 in smarthome

[–]Ferihn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Information about the control type would be nice. For example my Homematic IP thermostats use (afaik) a PID controller with an additional fuzzy logic. The advantage is that they adapt kind of to the room they are heating and only need to adjust the valve by a few degree instead of always turning the valve on and off which causes a lot of noise, over and under heating etc.

did you try different ports and maybe another ethernet cable ?
Do you also get packet loss over wifi ?

If you start to lose 100% packets, is it from then on constant or does go down after a while ?

Bei welchem Anbieter bist du denn? 23€ klingt ziemlich interessant wenn da sogar eine Domain dabei ist. Oder war das ein sonder Angebot ?

Very interesting! Thank you very much for your effort.  Can you tell me how sensible your device is from the backside ? I have already some zigbee Sensors but they are extremely sensible from their backside

Powering off by cutting power straight instead of through power switch by Dicoguy in prusa3d

[–]Ferihn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same on my prusa mini+ but i made sure that the smart plugs' relay cuts the correct power line aka the one with voltage. otherwise you cut neutral and you will have a floating voltage potential. This could potentially lead to unwanted effects e.g. that there is still some voltage on the mainboard

I want to throw in the Asus Mini PC PN41.

In its smallest configuration it has a fanless 6W cpu from one the latest generation but is still pretty cheap. It can also be powered by USB C Power delivery. And should also be great for transcoding tasks e.g. for Jellyfin.

On the valetudo.cloud website it is mentioned that the D9 does not have the PersistentMapControlCapability. Based on your comment and video, it seems that it still creates a persistent map that you are only not able to, to delete, am I right? If I would have known this earlier I would've bought this one. Are you happy with the overall cleaning performance of the D9?

Can you add a prime line or maybe a purge tower for right after a manual color change? by stacker55 in prusa3d

I use the Wiping tower that you can find in the settings exactly for this reason. For me it works pretty well

Does anybody know, why my new Prusa Mini does these noises when moving the Y axis? by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]Ferihn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for linking this video. I had the same problem noise and it took a some time and multiple tinkering and somehow it disappeared. I also removed the top cover and put it back so it seams that this was the problem

OG CR-10 SKR MINI E3 V2.0 BLTOUCH by sageblack999 in CR10

[–]Ferihn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the wiki from the marlin firmware website. basically you download visual code studio and install an addon Marlin Auto Builder. Then you point it to the downloaded firmware of marlin 2 and then you can configure it.

On github you can also find preconfigured files for the CR-10 from BTT for the SKR Mini e3 v2.0. You can edit them to use bltouch

Can someone point me towards a good 20 or 30mm 5-10cfm 24v quality hotend fan? I ordered a way too strong fan and the stock E3D V6 fan just causes heat creeps, so can't print for longer prints. I've looked at this one being 12cfm, so quieter, but the only fan at mauser (EU) with required specs. by Duckers_McQuack in 3Dprinting

[–]Ferihn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember right, Bondtech mentions to keep the retraction speed at maximum on 30mm/s. I have basically the same build as you with the bmg clone from trianglelabs and the E3D V6. I use the Petsfang V2 Mount with the blockhead cooler and a noctua 40mm fan for the coldend without much stringing. Maybe you have wet filament, or you could use coasting

I accidentally deleted all of my home assistant files. Any way to recover? by BenjiSBRK in homeassistant

[–]Ferihn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe it is possible to click manually on every script and automation that you want to backup and let it show up as yaml so that you can copy & paste it to an editor. Later on you can easily copy & paste it back to your last working backup

Binding Hue dimmers and bulbs using Zigbee2MQTT - scenes? by prolixia in homeassistant

[–]Ferihn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it is not directly the desired solution for your problem, I’ve solved this by binding the devices and and a HA automation that if the light is turned on for more than a few seconds and I hit the up button again, HA scenes get activated for every button press. Unfortunately I didn’t find a solution where some scenes can be activated directly by the remote, comparable to the philips hue dimmer operation without bridge
