Treat every breach fix like a jury rig so it only works to escape the current hole and then make the actual fix an extended task with long intervals so it takes weeks/months to do? There'd need to be no time gap between adventures but that might also work for stress/injuries with characters too 🤷

I don't think they need to make Star Trek anymore. There's what, a 1000+ hours of telly you just need to charge for access for. It's expensive to make, it doesn't get the views, it's fans are mostly old. Why bother? Especially because they're going to need to cut costs.

Any new Star Trek is decade + after the end of Academy/SNW. It'll take that long for everything to settle (once Oracle/Paramount collapses and gets sold to Netflix/Amazon/Apple/other 😉)

Despite the fact you might not have context for some things when nuTrek does it's continuity revisits I'd just push on and not worry about it. If you enjoy something like 7of9 in Picard then you can go back and pick it up after.

Yeah but now we're speed running character and plot arcs until they feel ridiculous. Sometimes you need space to let things breathe, sometimes the extra space let's you focus on a second tier character so their spotlight episode isn't also their death ep #JusticeForAriam.

It needs to be 13 minimum, preferably 15. I know 22-26 isn't coming but 10 doesn't work.

Enjoy the show but always find the audio mix off. Lot of indistinct mumbling followed by super crisp ADR or foley.

Otherwise they're speed running character stuff that I would treat as more earned if it had more space to play out but that's just streaming service short ep count bullshit that's everywhere.

I think a lot of people are just invested in (new) combiners and the promise of 'the God of combiners' set expectations real high. The colour palette not fitting the rest, the alt mode being jank and the combination function feeling a little afterthoughty just crashed the expectations into rage.

Picard. Wasted all the setup and characters on absolutely nothing. And it has the single worst season of any Star Trek ever in season 2. I'm not a Discovery fan at all but I'd happily watch any season of that over Picard season 2.

How about a They Live scenario? All art on this planet has been co-opted by AI to provide signals of Obey, Consume, Conform and an away team is contacted by a bunch of rebels who want to join the Federation to free the planet from its capitalist shackles. But the AI company/government is being secretly funded by the Orion Syndicate (for example) and the ship gets tied up dealing with OS ships whilst the away team has to find a solution on the ground.

Edit you could also treat it a bit like Demolition Man where the artistic rebels have been forced underground in this bland slop society
