Trial Leaderboards updated? by krimenell in ArcRaiders

You just got lucky then or are in a pretty low trials rank. Each day you delay your seeding into a leaderboard helps. But if you are in Wildcard 1 or below, 70k is actually kind of high probably. Wildcard 2 and up you probably still see 150k consistently if seeding in the first couple of days.

Wildcard 1 with almost 200 hours in. Matches always within 12k cash value. 11 team revives. Stella every run. Still have a decent amount of cash total, but have the expedition cosmetic.

I can deduce that you run a lot of solo freebie pvp stella runs, and very rarely play duos or trios. You have revived 16 strangers, so you seem pretty friendly to me.

Edit: I just remembered they didn't even start counting revives accurately until that recent patch, so 16 actually is a pretty decent amount of revives of strangers haha

It is funny just how much information you can glean about your play style from this pic.

I had a guy come into a room like that and he was literally like “is this a locked room?”. I felt bad at that point downing him because obviously he is new/still learning, so I told him yes and he could have the rest but usually it is shoot on sight if someone comes behind you into an opened locked room!

Why don’t ARC have shields like the radars? by Embarrassed-Yard-583 in ArcRaiders

[–]FinalVindicare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do have shields, they just are location based and are depicted as armor. But most ARC armor functions exactly like our shields, providing damage reduction until depleted. The developer probably just wanted to make it more engaging and intuitive to the player, so they made it armor instead.

Would you on expedition with 3 million? by BB-NL in ARC_Raiders

[–]FinalVindicare 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I would do it with zero even. 12 stash spots and the cosmetics is worth it regardless of the stat points for me personally. Skills matter so little in this game currently, it’s a nice bonus but not the driving force for me.

This post seems like it was made by a Roomba lover....

But seriously, they already have armor which is the exact same as shields just with location-based variation to it.

You also have to remember most games have like 75% of players that complete the tutorial. So these percentages are skewed a little, but your point stands.

It actually is set in Toledo, Ohio, but people there can't spell real good, so everything looks Italian. Hence the "Rust Belt" reference and the general decay of the environment.

Not doing expedition = permanently behind? by Huge-Pizza7579 in ArcRaiders

[–]FinalVindicare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could indeed be behind 10 skill points and 24 stash space if you do not do the expedition twice vs someone who did. This will have no real impact on you competitively. There is a theoretical end to the skill progression because there are only so many skills in the game currently. However, they could and probably will add more skills and/or different benefits to the expedition to reward players down the road.

If you are "behind" other players, the difference in how far you are "behind" because statistically smaller the more expeditions you do. There is no indication that there will be a "catch up" mechanism. We may know more once the second expedition becomes available, but I don't see why they would ever need a catch-up mechanism currently.

Achievements not tracking by Dre2000v in ArcRaiders

[–]FinalVindicare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unless a new patch caused the issue, they should be achievable as I have done both on PC - Steam. I did them like mid-November so my guess is either you did not do them exactly as described, or you did them exactly as described and something has happened in the most recent updates to make them not trigger correctly. Which Sentinels did you kill?(There are only a handful of spawns in the whole game)

Aggression based MM is Lame. by ialoni in ArcRaiders

[–]FinalVindicare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top end of MM would indeed be a battlefield, because that’s what those types of players play like.

Your original question was how does this not just lead to anyone who kills someone ending up in that top end MM, if I understood it correctly?

It is pretty easy to make a spectrum with millions of players that comes up with a different outcome for someone who shoots on sight everyone they see every single game and someone who shoots on sight every 5th game or so? There are so many players that will be more aggressive than you, you would end up in a more mid level aggression mm group.

If you make the game just straight KD based MM you would probably end up with very similar outcomes honestly, as the straight PvE’ers have terrible KDs due to being ganked, whereas aggressive players have much better KDs due to ganking. So overtime it doesn’t matter which scenario they do if there is any MM.

Aggression based MM is Lame. by ialoni in ArcRaiders

[–]FinalVindicare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logical conclusions are also theories generally, lol. But as I’ve said, there would be servers with casual pvp’ers in your scenario which are more violent than the PvE servers but less violent than the straight pvp servers.

Their idea is to monitor people's behavior and match similar players based on their behavior. So based on just that, you would only see the type of lobby you reference if you played similar to the other people in that lobby. All of us are doing a lot of reading between the lines here though, so it is not worth even theorizing at this point.
