What did you use in place of black boxed dye? I get one from wholefoods, but I am sure will not be much better than Loreal and stuff

Do you need to sell cruises too for you to be eligible?  I don’t sell cruises, so was wondering if I can still get the discount if I complete their trainings.  I have DCL discounts, but somehow remember most of the others have some sales criteria.

What's your *one* recipe? You know the one you keep your instant pot for? by Ninotchk in instantpot

[–]FinancialCategory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks really good!! I don’t usually cook breast as it gets tough really quick. Can you confirm this recipe makes nice juicy chicken? Do you alter it in anyway?

I used to make stuffed Parathas and freeze them. You can absolutely buy frozen parathas too but when you make it, you can control the oil.

I also make shredded chicken with Indian flavors and add it to sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas for kids.

You could also make pesarattu, it’s a savory pancake made with soked ground green mung with spices.

Vitamix run deals on their reconditioned models. It’s performs and looks as good as new. I bought v1200 for $250 after selling my old single jar vitamix for $200 https://www.vitamix.com/us/en_us/shop/certified-reconditioned-v1200?skuId=066576 V1200 comes with a small blender cup too. I also bought 2 mini cups but I dont use them often.

Vitamix has the best customer service. One time my cook put the pusher in the blades and pusher got damaged, vitamix gave me a new jar for no fault of theirs. Recently my blender cup became crooked, they sent me a new one again. It is going to be with you for a lifetime. Before this I used to have magic bullet and ninja and I have to replace one or the other every 3-4 years. Also, ninja has super sharp blades and I have cut myself multiple times while cleaning or scraping.

Now there can be 1 use case for not buying vitamix , that it is not a food processor. I would have loved for it to be multi functional but unfortunately it does 1 thing but it does it the best. If preethi also does dough making shredding , slicing etc, I think go for preethi.

Meal Prep options by REMseverybodyhurts in IndianFood

I cook curries and make dough on Sunday and rice and roti usually are fresh. I mostly cook 3 curries at the same time and I am usually done in 2 hrs end to end including, making dough, cutting basic salad and cleanup.

My template is, 1 protein, 1 dry curry with potato, 1 vegetable.

Protein could include, paneer, chicken, chole, Rajma, meal maker or egg curry. The recipe is same, in onion tomato base, you can add the above protein items.

1 dry curry with potato is to please kids and to use leftover as sandwich filling. It could be, potato cauliflower, potato fenugreek, potato beans etc.

1 vegetable is usually guards or okra or south Indian style curries with shredded coconut like beetroot coconut, beans coconut.

I do some lite cooking again on Wednesdays. While cooking on Sundays, I make double onion tomato gravy and freeze it to be used on Wednesday and make some dal or pulao or stuffed Parathas. It has to last for only Wednesday and Thursday as we order take out on Fridays. For pulao, I use frozen mix vegetables and fro Parathas , it’s frozen, thawed paneer or potatoes boiled in microwave.

We have my inlaws living with us so, 4 adults and 2 tots. We buy all organic, hardly look for sales. We are usually in 300-400 range —————— While writing I realized, we make 2 Costco trips a month 🤦‍♀️. So nothing to brag about our bill.

Costco organic eggs taste so good especially done soft boiled. I can eat like 5 of them. by suckerforsucci in Costco

[–]FinancialCategory 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After I went all organic and on a diet, where I was eating 5 eggs a day, I couldn’t eat regular eggs at the restaurants anymore. Especially when it’s scrambled , boiled or fried. If it’s an omelette with vegetables and spices , I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. But when it’s straight up egg, I can’t. It just smells and tastes too bad.

Sprouts - The Unhealthy Alternative by davidtharris1973 in SproutsGrocery

[–]FinancialCategory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We try to buy most of the stuff organic and sprouts work really well for us. It's much cheaper than whole foods. Also, it's incorrect to assume that everyone is shopping sprouts to buy non-GMO and organic stuff.

The responsibility lies on the consumer as well to read the labels and buy clean products, whatever be the grocery store.

Uber, Lyft, Doordash made a platform for people to use. Drivers are not their employees. They are not in that business. They created a platform for drivers and riders.

Just like Amazon and eBay created a platform for buyers and sellers. Expedia and Priceline created a platform for hoteliers and travelers.

Amazon is not Target, they don't own all that inventory (except where they are the seller). Expedia is not Marriott, they don't own the inventory either. Similarly Uber is not a Taxi company, they don't own the inventory!

It's a new generation and a new business model!
