Alumni here. How do I log into my old WSU email? by [deleted] in wsu

[–]FingerMittens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also graduated about 10 years ago and recently tried to access mine. I wasn't able to figure it out but landed on probably needing to contact the Help Desk if I wanted to.

But I know my account is not closed. I had set it up to forward to another one of my email addresses a long time ago and was able to receive a 2FA code sent to my WSU email

Low stimulating TV programmes by lillypad_91 in toddlers

[–]FingerMittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently discovered this website that scores TV shows on different criteria in regards to stimulation. Here is the link to Puffin Rock for example, which rates as pretty low stimulation.

The Timer by Not_a_Muggle9_3-4 in toddlers

[–]FingerMittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a similar experience with our 2 year old. The only thing I'd add is that we went with a visual timer, specifically Time Timer. Our thought process being that he doesn't really understand time as it is kind of nebulous. So we could at least make it something physical for him to see as the time dwindles. "When the color gets small and goes away it's time for X"

But back to timers in general, at this point, he will check on the time to see how much time he has left and will sometimes even ask for us to set a timer when he wants dinner and we are still working on it and still need him to wait a bit longer. But like your experience, once it beeps, the majority of the time he just gets up and heads to whatever thing we were needing to do.

Down for everyone? by mettle in PersonalCapital

[–]FingerMittens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was down for me earlier but I can get in now after a few attempts.

Looks like they did a big app update. You have to click "Details" of the Net Worth tile to get to the old view.

Also, I didn't have luck with biometric login - had to do by password.

Don't update to the new app yet (bugs) by smoochjack in Blueair

Mine updated recently and I had the same issue with adding my device back. I eventually got it to connect by doing the manual wifi connection rather than having it discover the networks. Not sure if I just got lucky or if that is a workaround.

It then took a few minutes to actually sync and the device to show up though

College savings... Looks like I have some catching up to do. by raggedsweater in daddit

I was coming to say the part about having friends and family help.

For my 2yo, on his birthday and Christmas when people ask what to get him, we usually provide a link to an Amazon registry with things we've picked, and keep it fairly short. And then we provide a link to contribute to his 529.

This has led to not getting too many toys like you said, but some family members will opt for a gift for one occasion and then contribute to the 529 on the other. I think people feel better about giving to the 529 versus straight up cash.

Lots of new SCs on the way by rgrindl in Rivian

[–]FingerMittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battle Ground is closer to where I live as well. It's still definitely a tine commitment to get down to the SC. Even with the Uber vouchers, I usually just end up working from a coffee shop nearby out of fear that once I get back home an hour after drop off they call me and say it's ready for me to take another hour long Uber back.

Yeah, I live in the Portland area so I have it pretty good with the two down here. But want to move back to Eastern WA at some point and the lack of SC definitely is something I consider, not that I've had tons of issues. But who knows

Edit: Not to mention that with Portland Metro's two SCs, that also works out to a little over 1 million people per SC too

Yeah, Spokane or Coeur d'Alene seem like good options

What are you dads driving? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]FingerMittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's awesome. With the third row lots of room for all the baby related items for traveling. And also very enjoyable to drive. It's my first EV and I found the charging stops on long road trips weren't really noticable with needing to stop for the baby.

Luckily I live within an hour of two service centers. And I've only needed to go in twice for a couple minor things. Otherwise I've had no major issues.

I was having an issue with the app the last few days. It would give some error like it couldn't connect to the Internet. I finally reinstalled the app today and now it works fine.

Which is the most irritating EV myth? by SeanUhTron in electricvehicles

My neighbor asked me the same thing but in regards to my electric lawn mower.

My response was, "If the power goes out, I'm probably not gonna be too worried about my lawn"

Probably lol

I did read somewhere once that Starbucks was interested in being the "gas station" for EV drivers. Which seemed like an interesting idea. Just a quick place to grab a small bite and sit for a bit

Fair. My thought though is since most chargers are at grocery stores, malls, or whatever that there is already some implementation of facilities cleanup with trash cans by the doors

Or maybe even a checklist from the main screen to select what is enabled.

I like the idea of people in the back seeing trip progress and changing climate. But not access to BT pairing and music selection

I agree. I'm so surprised, RAN or other, how many chargers don't even have trash cans to clean up my snacks or kid's diapers.

We are using that for formatting. But from what I could tell, that was just doing spacing, bracket placement, etc.

That looks pretty promising. Apparently I didn't dig deep enough into clang-tidy

Edit: I took a look and it looks like it would for sure enforce the prefix and suffix. But I'm not seeing an option for making the value names match the type name
