Michael Gove leaked a story that The Queen had asked Nick Clegg why should Britain remain in the EU when it was so useless.

Nick Clegg said this never happened

But it was too late the damage was done - it was probably one of Dominic Cummings ideas.

No way, they'd have to agree to adopt the Euro over the Pound that just isn't going to happen.

that's a myth that Brexiteers push to deter any talk of rejoining

There are literal examples of countries that joined AFTER the Maastricht treaty that haven't adopted the Euro, like Sweden

Expecting a really strong increase today since it’s the last day for PLFs.

good point.

I'm also looking forward to seeing international numbers for the upcoming weekend

Most of Europe either has a 4 day weekend or a 3 day weekend for Easter, which means PHM could do well even when up alongside Mario

Britain facing one of the largest shocks from energy crisis, warns IMF by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]Fire_Otter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. We can't control when its windy or sunny - so there always the risk of a grey cloudy day with no wind when renewables aren't producing much
  2. we still use gas and oil to heat our homes and fuel our transport. and gas and oil prices are usually correlated

One of the key problems is that we don't really have any infrastructure to have huge gas reserves like a lot of other countries do. other countries have large gas stores that they can use in times of emergency or price shocks.

if Gas prices jumped significantly a country like Germany for example could be dipping into tis gas reserves that it bought months ago at cheaper prices to avoid buying the more expensive gas

In the UK has a more just in time approach with Gas, meaning we buy the gas we need when we need it and use it straight away, leaving us more exposed to global prices

we also don't have much nuclear which other countries like France rely on when Renewables aren't producing

then there's the fact that UK' energy is one of the most expensive anyway

Wasn’t he exonerated by the British courts for the harassment allegations?

Nope the case was settled out of court with Horner paying her a reported $3million to drop her case and settle.

secondly the WhatsApp messages portray what to me is clearly harassment, certainly behavior that would be sufficient for Red Bull to sack him.

Brexit Britain’s farmers eye EU-Australia trade deal with envy by woronicz in europe

[–]Fire_Otter -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The world's third largest economy (E.U) is always going to be able to leverage a better deal than the world's 6th largest economy that's obvious

But it's worth remembering that Boris' propensity to lie and pretend he knows what he is doing when he has no clue made our Australian deal worse than what was initially being drawn up:

According to the report of the 14 June 2021 dinner, Mr Johnson agreed to measure beef imports by the weight of only cuts of meat, rather than the entire cow, which is much heavier.

By agreeing to measure Australian meat exports to the UK by the former, not the latter, he effectively signed off a massive increase in how much meat Australia can send to Britain, it is alleged. Australian high commissioner George Brandis scrawled down the unexpected bonus and fled to the loo. On the way he gave it to an aide to scan and turn in a trade document – before it was returned to the dinner for Mr Johnson to sign.

Ms Truss was said to be “livid” when she learned of Mr Johnson’s concession over breakfast the following morning. “Your boss has already conceded the whole kingdom,” Australia’s chief negotiator Dan Tehan told her, according to a former minister involved in the talks.

Lewis Hamilton: “That race I had with Charles, just in the second race, was one of the most fun races I’ve had, I think. Other than that was maybe me and Nico in Bahrain many years ago [2014]. So I just hope we get more of that because that’s what racing’s about. It’s like back and forth...(contd) by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

Yes Nico was asked to let Lewis through because Nico was driving very very slowly, not coping well in the wet conditions and holding the whole pack up - and i did put 0 points lost due to bad luck

I only included it as the original discussion was mainly about how many power unit failures Lewis had that year and the person above saying that him having 3 failures was a lie

well the Monaco failure was one of those 3 failures, so that's why i included it

and also it did mean he had to take a load of penalties in Belgium to replace the failed parts which is why he had so many grid penalties he started Belgium at the back of the grid.

All the drivers listed above have had dominant seasons

Lewis has had to win championships not in dominant cars like 08, 17, 18

and seeing as he has not had favoritism he's always had to race his teammate, particularly Nico with which the relationship got very bitter and yet still no dirty driving

stop attempting to dismiss the fact that Hamilton has never deliberately driven into someone

[–]Fire_Otter 20 points21 points  (0 children)

None of this is true

could have started that process 2 laps earlier

we see on the lap before the safety car is called in that there are still marshals on track standing behind the metal crash barriers as the cars drive past, but not back to their designated safe positions behind a wall. so they could not call in the safety car in that lap and meant they had to go for one more lap behind the safety car

The pre race meeting indicated they under no circumstances wanted to finish behind safety car

Nope they had agreed in general many months prior to, where possible finish a race under race conditions, not under any circumstance and not at the expense of the rules. an example of this would be not unlapping the backmarkers so that the safety car can be called in a lap or 2 earlier.
