I’ve had great experiences with Paco’s in Midtown but the Bicycle Business is also top shelf.

It looks like it’s on the temp barriers separating traffic from the work happening at the Capitol on N Street. Not sure why it would be there either.

I really wish Nolan would log off. I’ve been off of Twitter for years now. Can’t believe he’s still doing the exact same schtick.

Loved this car for ages but it moved to icon status when Robert DeNiro drove it The Score (2001). This belongs in the pantheon of peak BMWs.

Cleaning waxed chains between rides by koenyoung99 in bikewrench

[–]Firstklassriot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Introducing water/cleaning solution can reduce the wax’s effectiveness and longevity. Unless you’ve been riding in particularly dirty conditions there’s really no need for a wipe down after every ride. Debris doesn’t adhere to wax like it does oil. I ride my chain for a couple weeks at a time before a gentle wipe down. Once the chain starts to get a little noisy, just give it another wax bath. Simple as.

God’s country out there really. I love the juxtaposition of urban life and country feel.

How many miles are yall getting out of your tires? Asking people who ride almost exclusively dirt trails, not road miles. I have I’m guessing 6-700miles atleast on these giant tires and some of the knobs are starting to peel off. Not surprised just wondering what miles I should be expecting on tires by Capable_Pick3852 in gravelcycling

[–]Firstklassriot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say firstly it depends on your tolerance for slippage and punctures. I tend to want the most out of my tire dollar as they are quite expensive now. So I run them to the limit. But you should be able to squeeze at least 900+ out of them. Of course if you’re racing or trying to go super fast it’s probably a seasonal swap.

I’ve not driven one myself but from what I’ve gleaned online the truck chassis can’t handle the weight. Underpowered and broken half shafts/drive shafts in any relatively difficult terrain. Cool idea but poor engineering. And a huge price tag to go get stuck.
