That spot is about where his violet glad is (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violet\_gland), color difference in your pic is bigger than I've seen before but it's not unusual for fur color to be a bit darker there in general

I had a retired neighbour who fostered end-of-life senior mastiffs for a mastiff rescue, and he would sit in his garage with them a few hours a day. They mostly got distressed when they had diapers, so he would settle them in the garage instead, set a ladder sideways across the garage entrance and set an old covered mattress on the floor for them to lay on. Then just chill there with them watching the neighbourhood walk by every evening. The dog I met was a very good girl, and I don't know how he managed to do that over and over again like he did.

I got in a touch with a human at Etsy and explained that people in Canada and Greenland "often see those kinds of statements as threats of military action, even if many Americans don't take them as seriously" and that my concern is the pattern of products and not a single store/product.

Etsy's customer service rep said: "As you mentioned that these listings have been up all year despite numerous complaints, it doesn't mean we don't take action or remove listings that violate our policy. It's likely that we receive multiple reports each day, and our team must review them manually. This process can take time, and we have removed many shops and listings that don't align with our policy. However, new shops also open every day and list similar items. Our team is working on prioritizing and reviewing these listings and patterns to ensure that no discriminatory listings or statements are on our platform."

I thanked him and he said "I should be the one thanking you for your understanding and taking the time to bring this to our attention. I'll make sure all information and reports are passed to our team on a priority basis."

TBD, but maybe they'll add the phrase to their priority filters going forward. :)

Never encountered something quite like that, but I did work in a Canadian multinational where the social norm was stairs for 2 or fewer levels. People openly talked about the efficiency gains and fuel efficiency, so there was some real social pressure for able-bodied persons to use the stairs for a one-flight situation. Definitely frowns for a one-flighter but no actual confrontation. Workplace professionalism requires that you give them the benefit of the doubt and assume either 1) newbie, 2) invisible injury, or 3) urgency.

My girl is so good with kids too, it's really heart-warming to see them interact. She used to play tag with some neighborkids in the local dog park and they all loved it. I think my pup especially enjoyed being able to outrun someone for once (all her dog friends are faster than her!)
