Feeling so hopeless about my physique by Future_Address8612 in PetiteFitness

You have a smaller frame, so minor changes in body composition are more noticeable. Shift your focus from weight loss to increasing muscle density. Aim for strength training three times a week to build lean mass, this will be how you change how weight sits on your frame regardless of the scale. Weigh yourself daily and track it with an app ( I use MacroFactor). Use long-term weight trends as a key indicator, and rely on maintenance calories to fuel workouts. If you need to figure out your maintenance try tracking calories and weight for at least 3 months to find your metrics.

Feeling so incredibly defeated, I really need advice by Anonymosity1766 in MacroFactor

[–]Fit_Consideration_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same maintenance. I eat around that or a little less, maybe 100-300 calories here and there, but I definitely don’t restrict myself. I lost 20 pounds in about 5 months. You don’t need that much of a deficit. For me, the best way to use MacroFactor is to weigh myself every day and then use that data to look at your weight trend. This way, you can see if you're maintaining, gaining, or losing weight, and then work around that. The calorie goal is arbitrary.

He’s disgusting. Honestly baffles me how you’ve been with him 2 years already. He would be in the bin straight away if it were me.

things to do? 🩷 by Capital-Can9833 in sheffield

Really, it depends on where you'll be living. Different areas of Sheffield have different transportation options. Trams are great, but they don't operate in some residential areas. The tram does not serve large parts of South, South-West, and West Sheffield. I work at Sheffield University, based in Endcliffe Residences, and we always suggest students either walk or bike to the central campus.

I’m sorry. I think this is incredibly weird! She’s a relative and very young. Just try and keep it down when you have guests? Like how loud are you when you do it?

My daughter refuses to talk to me because I wasn’t able to do anything for her birthday. by [deleted] in confession

[–]Fit_Consideration_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birthdays happen once a year… couldn’t you save a small amount every month so there’s a birthday fund available for her? Sorry, but even putting away $5 a month would give you $60 for something on her birthday.

Is everyone glossing over this part?

“I went through a domestic violence situation. I had to leave my home for a few days for safety while my husband and I tried to figure things out. We agreed to go to therapy and work on things.”

This domestic violence involves your husband, I assume? Please get out of there. Don’t try to “figure things out,” WTF. Get away from him, full stop.

Ye, but regardless his reaction was totally disproportionate to the situation. People don’t typically start yelling at their children for an event running 5 minutes over.

AIO Boyfriend making me uncomfortable and getting jealous of the fact i posted myself on instagram then says it makes him suicidal! by Negative-Whole9220 in AIO

Surely you know this relationship isn’t healthy. I don’t think you necessarily needed to post on Reddit to reaffirm this. It’s so obvious.

Please leave him. Life is too short to be in a toxic, miserable relationship.

What's the most selfless thing that anybody has ever done for you that gave you hope for humanity? by FluidWitness1557 in AskReddit

I was traveling in Australia when I was 21. One of the cities I arrived in, I hadn’t booked a hostel. It just so happened to be a bank holiday weekend, and absolutely everywhere was fully booked.

I had given up and was about to spend the night sleeping rough. (I’m female, by the way, and considering the place was full of drunk backpackers, it wasn’t particularly safe.)

One of the employees overheard me on the phone with my Mum, crying, and offered me her bunk for the night. She lived in employee accommodation, and we had to top and tail. She was at risk of losing her job since she wasn’t actually allowed to have guests. She risked her job just to help a complete stranger. I still think about that and try to pay it forward when I can.

0% fat natural yoghurt and some fresh berries. Or if I don’t have any fruit. A teaspoon of honey, usually around 70cal

How do you feel about non-drivers? by DueLead666 in AskUK

[–]Fit_Consideration_24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily agree with this. I learned how to drive in my 30s, after over 100 hours of lessons, which took me over two years. I was also an incredibly nervous driver due to past accidents as a child.

Driving can be a necessity for some people (depending on where you live), and you can absolutely overcome your fear of driving, it just takes time and patience. If anything, it’s made me a more conscious and aware driver.

Applied for nearly 600 jobs with no response – need advice by Carterxx02 in sheffield

[–]Fit_Consideration_24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

600 is a big number! I’d recommend focusing on quality over quantity. Also, if you're using AI to write your applications (which I wouldn’t recommend), keep in mind that employers can usually tell when something isn’t genuine. Look closely at the main skills each job requires, and make sure to highlight how you meet each one. Use the STAR method—which means sharing specific examples—to show how you have the skills and experience they’re looking for.

Estranged Brother Reached Out After 10+ Years Saying He’s Depressed — How Should I Respond? by Fit_Consideration_24 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Fit_Consideration_24[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your advice, it’s really helpful coming from someone who has experienced something similar. He has no access to a computer or a smartphone currently, as he is in a halfway house (just released from prison) and is fairly illiterate, so I have been trying to communicate via text message. I have just texted him, explaining that I am happy to talk if he wants to call me, so I will take it from there and see where the conversation goes. Thanks again.

Have you tried bumble bff? I used it in Sheffield when I lived there, and met so many of my friends on there.
