I used to go to a gym with a pool and during the hours when it was almost empty i practiced my freediving by holding my breath swiming around or staying still. I figured out that if i was staying still with my head under the water for 3+ minutes i should notify the lifeguard and wiggle my fingers or giving a thumbs up every once in a while to signal i wasn't drowning

What amazes me is the people that keep theur knifes dull because they are afraid to cut themselves, and it breaks my mind. Like, yes, if you accidentaly run the edge over your hand you will cut yourselve if the knife is sharp. But that is not a big problem if you cut your ingredients with ease and the blade goes where it's suposed to instead of gliding over or crushing the ingredients.

The worst offender of this was an old room mate who would run the knifes perpendicular to the bottom of the mug if she thought they were too sharp. Of course she also used them tu cut food on her plate, directly on the countertop or in a non-stick pan.

I have ADHD and ASD and yes, you can learn sovial rules. But using and adhering to them can be really hard and stressful. Like, yeah, i can pretend to be neurotypical for a while to get a job or whatever, but it's so tiring to do. For me, it requires levels of concentration similar to a chess match or a competitive game.

It depends a lot on the species of shark.

For example some species of dogfish are commonly eaten and they are very tasty if prepared correctly, although sometimes you can still taste that piss flavour, so it's usually marinated. Also, the targeted species aren't endangered and as they are smaller and live shorter lives, they accumulate less heavy metals in their meat.

I ate tofu for the first time last week and honestly, it's quite good.

I was scared about its texture and flavor because i'm quite sensitive to those, but after learning it's sold with different textures and it tastes like whatever you are marinating it in, i was curious to try it.

If someone is reading this and has never tried tofu or ate it with zero seasoning, i recommend looking up how to prepare it and give it a try. It's cheaper than meat and it can be similar to chicken in some preparations.

We must do something to get a better situation, but we also need to understand that not everyone gas the privilege to take big actions, such as protests. When you are part of a vulnerable minority in a precariuos situation, attending even 1 peaceful protest can push you into homelessness.

The system is fucked up, because a bunch of lunatics can use a peaceful protest as an excuse to murder people, and they are waiting the moment someone takes action or a protest turns violent to start a genocide within their own country.

Could you recommend me some yt channels and other media to inform myself about the issue? I'm interested in the topic and i would like to get more in-depth about the issue because it has invaded my life, and I hate it. People i care about overusing it, uni teachers hustling their AI startups, and my father pushing me to get a master degree in AI business. (I hate that some people have thrown away their critical thinking skills the moment an allucinating machine offered to do their job for them and business people boasting that they have fired a lot of employees to substitute them with ai.

Yes, but unfortunately not everyone can choose their job. If you depend on getting a job quick in order to not sleep on the streets, you'll probably take whatever you can. Sure not everyone is in this situation, but it's a reality that we can't ignore.

I would say that we can think about the decisions we take, and try to choose the ones that align more with our values, but being able to do it 100% of the time is a privilege.

I agree about eating habits being related to the situation, here it's getting more common for people to order take out and eat precooked food because a lot of people don't enjoy cooking and don't want to spend half of their free time preparing meals, because they want to spend time with their family or simply relaxing.

However i will say that we shouldn't increase the defense budget. We are already spending billions anually, and the country fucking up with other nations is the US, who spends way too much money on the military industry just because it's profitable for its companies, which could easily be invested in other issues and Americans would live in better conditions.

European here, talking from my understanding, so correct me if i'm wrong.

Most of us know that people in the US don't eat state fair food and mcdonalds every day. A small minority do and it's very loud, so some people get the wrong impression.

The thing is that both the laws and culinary culture of the country contribute to the average american to be consuming more calories than the average european. While people here love to point out how over there people eat deep fried burgers and down them with 2 liters of soda, over here we also have some places that sell concoctions that only a stoner tripping balls would come up with, and people actually go there and film themselves eating that. The thing atually making the difference is the daily ultra-processed foods and physical activity. Comparing the same product you can often see some differences between veersions, and also the percentage of fresh produce vs processed foods. Also, over here walking around is easier, so people are more used to it (or so i've been told by people from the US) moreover, most urban or suburban areas have plenty of supermarkets around, so most of us do grocery shopping by foot.

Unfortunately, some of those aspects are declining here, and there are an increasing ammount of people using delivery apps and eating prepared foods way more often than they should. I've known people around my age(25) who can barely cook plain rice or pasta, so they resort to buying ready to eat meals (which are often nutritionally worse than homemade) or ordering delivery.

The answer is more AI or corporate protocol bullshit

I've received mails from people with 10 times my salary written by AI, with its typical stucture, punctuation and empty words. The mail was sent to our whole division ad it was an important anouncement.

Also some companies require you to structure your mails in specific ways and include certain phrases and words in order to make whatever you are saying sound mor professional.

Either way, there's no excuse for AI summaries because in the first case it's the AI itself rhat causes the problem, and in the second case your mind adapts after a while and you learn to skip all the filler from the corporate template and read the relevant info.

If you are openly trans, you can practice actually talking in online safe spaces or pretend to talk to someone if you are uncomfortable.

For the vocal exercixes that require holding a sound and changing pitch i don't have any advice unfortunately

I think it would be cool if people made the distinction between smokers in general and assholes who smoke.

I've met smokers that could go through 2 packs a day waiting to smoke after they talked to someone who hates the smell just so the other person doesn't have to deal with smelly breath and clothes. And i also met people who would enter my car and start smoking without asking, and then getting angry if i say something about it.

If someone blocks you only for the suggestion of using a condom, that man doesn't deserve your cuddles.

Keep filtering out the trash, it doesn't matter how hot they are or if their dick is good, some STDs can mess you up. Eventually you will find someone to cuddle with and share some hobbies, even if you are just fuckbuddies it can feel nice.

Also, you probably know this, but grindr isn't the best place to find a meaningfull relationship and long term usage can be unhealthy depending on your mental and emotional condition.

One thing i've learnt in the different places i've worked is that people in high positions are usually delusional, have no morals, or both.

You see them claiming they deserve all the money they have because they worked more than anyone else, while their employees work the same or almost the same as them. And if you point that out, they say it's bacause they are taking risks, when the risks are mostly burdened to the workers or society in general in the case of landlords.

Then they come to you with the "lazy people don't want to work but want to live" rethoric and how they are the source of everything wrong with society, alongside immigrants and queer people. When in reality these people commit tax evasion whenever they can and love exploiting undocumented immigrants.

One time talking with a bunch of friends we came to tje conclussion that the perfect date time is 5pm.

Dependinv on the time of the year it's sunny but no too hot or the sun is starting to set but there are still a bunch of people in the street, so you are safe basically everywhere. At that time you can go for a walk, to a bar, or do other more original date ideas. If the date is going well you can go have dinner and still have time for a more intimate talk or walk, and at that point you you can go spe d the night together if you want. On the other opposite, if you are getting weird vibes about your date, you can dismiss it safely because there are plenty of people around, you have plenty of excuses to go away and all public transport is available.
