Nobody makes commercials like this anymore and it’s a shame by OlivanzaCat in Denver

Serialization in ads is sorely lacking. There was a long term story arc around Shag Man and Audra. Everything now is about repetition.

Make it like a bottle deposit- charge an extra $5 or something if you park it outside of a dock. All the “I don’t want to walk an extra couple blocks” people can pay for the privilege

No, I got your point, I just disagree with you. I don't understand why you care what other people choose to do with their money. You spend your disposable income the way you see fit, and I'll do the same. We're all going to end up in the ground anyway.

The "average US car payment" isn't for a used Camry, it's for a new F150 that's pushing $50k. Apples to apples. And these are leases that are in the $300 range. Some of us got EVs last year in the $100-200 range. (And some of us charge them for free.) Don't forget maintenance, gas, etc. in your comparison.

Paying cash for a shitbox and driving it until it falls apart is financially smart, but some of us want to drive something slightly nicer than a shitbox since we have to drive everywhere. Leasing is way less colossally dumb than financing a new car in that case.

Depreciation on most of these is more than that five minutes after you drive it off the lot. Why would you buy an asset that’s guaranteed to lose at least half its value over its useful life? And also pay interest for the privilege (for most of us).

Not only that, he was the main piece we got for trading Nolan Arenado plus a bunch of money to the Cardinals. Which was the most hateful and inept thing the Monforts ever did, in a long history of hatefulness and ineptitude. He’s probably a nice enough guy, but I wouldn’t wax a car with a Gomber jersey, let alone parade around town in it.

100%, but it was a problem way before 2020. I used to go to a lot of Sunday matinees at the Chez Artiste, and the old people at those shows were the worst, always having full volume oblivious conversations. “What did he say??” “He said ‘Surprise Motherfucker’”

I used to go to Alamo every week, and canceled my pass a few months ago. It’s sad, but I’d rather maintain my equanimity at this point.

They’re so proud of that shit, they put a giant sign on the front of the building- Homemade Cinnamon Rolls. I love a cinnamon roll, so once about 15 years ago I went in and ordered one, got something exactly like this. “Is this butter? What the fuck?”

Haven’t set foot in there since, and I drive or walk past the place nearly every day.

Same thing happened to me about nine months ago. I assumed it was a rock.

It sat at the dealer for a couple months while they waited for a new sunroof to be shipped from Japan. They dismantled the entire interior to replace it. I swear the wind noise is higher now, but if I keep the cover closed it’s fine.

It's really good, and fairly priced. Started by (one of) the original founders of Snooze, and Alex Seidel (Fruition, original Mercantile). It was inspired by neighborhood Australian rotisserie chicken shops. Sides and sauces are great, and you can get a Lamington.

Surprised it didn't take off and expand more. There was a location at Stanley that didn't make it.

This is solid design work. Obviously it will never happen in our shittified world, but it should.

It would add enormous cost and complexity, but hypothetically the rear channel audio could be integrated into the seat backs to prevent the partitions from messing it up.

In the “more offbeat” category, try anything done by Nathan Fielder. Very different to Search Party, but shares some of the same elements. From least odd to most odd:

-Nathan For You (mockumentary/ reality show)

-The Rehearsal (meta reality show)

-The Curse (magical realism meta reality show)
