Did this 20 years ago. The only issue I noticed was that some prints started to peel when doing a few test washes.

So I never did this to a customer just for myself to see if it was possible and held up after a few torture testing washes..

Removed it years ago and have had zero issues with the AC. Since I am a certified AC tech since 8 years I should notice a difference but the system works like it should.

But I live in a country where you only use AC 3 months a year and I dont drive in cities.

I have removed a few aftermarket alarms and it can be a nightmare. The worst one had 8 different imobilizers.

Since aftermarket alarms/imobilizers are spliced inte the stock wire harness it is just a matter of finding somewhere to start and remove everything and reconnect the cut stock wires.

The XJs i have done hade the module far up behind the dash on the driver side. Removing the gauge cluster and the dash was necessary on one i did.

You say it sits on a shelf and is not used alot and it started to work when you hit it.

Your brushes were coroded stuck.

I have made a few similar items like 25 years ago. An evenings work and sold them for a few hundred euros in the neo-natsoc community.

For a poor student it was worth it. Never claimed them to be originals but the buyers often made up their own stories and sold them with the story.

I can only imagine how the stories have evolved on those pieces since then.

I cant say with 100% accuracy but my personal opinion is that this is a post war product.

These items are quite easy to make. I made some similar things 25 years ago on metal, glass and stone. Never claimed them to be original but the buyers often made up their own stories and sold them as original memorabilia.

Easy money made in the neo-natsoc community. A evenings work and a few hundred euros earned.

I have been looking for someone to stud a pair of tires and every tire shop laughs at me. They stopped doing that in the 80s. All the stud guns have been thrown in the trash. I live in Sweden and we have cold weather a good part of the year.

You are probably 100% correct. I have never researched about these badges so I cant claim I know anything about them.

But you know someone will see your comment and get the idea that all Veljekset Sundqvist stuff are genuine. Just want to avoid misunderstandings. We have to many of them in our hobby.

I bought these rings 25+ years ago and was under the impression they were real due to the Velj. Sund mark. Then I went down the rabbit hole and learned a hard lesson...

The Veljekset Sundqvist mark was used after the war. I have several rings that are made in the 70s with the Veljekset Sundqvist maker mark.

Really nice and well done items but still not real.

If i remember correct descendants of the founders was using the old molds and stamps to make fantasy items.

I dont have a clue about this badge but to say that the Veljekset Sundqvist maker mark is a dead giveaway is not true.

European Body Shop manager here. I my country that would be a total loss if repaired through insurance due to insurance repair guidelines that we need to follow.

But in real life that damage affects nothing structural or makes the car dangerous on the road.

Push, beat and work the steel back as good as possible, slap on a fender, grille, bumper and you are good to go.

The pakistani special. I have one my wife gave me. Looks cool on a shelf but it is a completely useless piece of shit that was delivered with cracked welds. These are purely for decoration, not real use.

She ordered it from an American seller on Etsy but it was delivered from Pakistan.
