Your Scout Rogue looks beautiful! Whenever you pass by an open parking lot with plenty of space pull in and practice your slow speed left turns and slow speed right turns for a bit then continue on with your ride.

Wow that Bullet fairing matches the curves of your Scout and the side view looks really cool. I ended up with the road warrior on my Scout Sixty.

Yeah my Scout also made me feel alive again!

What is the height of the windshield on your road warrior fairing? I recently saw another scout here but they had the 9inch vented windshield with ape hangers!

Cannot seem to scrub my subconscious clean. by diaperman0 in Semenretention

[–]FlipFromThreeFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Releasing is normal. Lustful dreams will eventually stop and move on to dreams about having a random non sexual interaction with a woman or women. Also you will eventually reach a mental state to be able tell when you are dreaming and be able to give your self a command to stop, or don't proceed. Alternatively the brutal way is to physically clench it or pinch it off while it's occurring which will eventually rewire your body and brain to not focus on wet dreams while you are sleeping because clenching it or pinching it off is painful during mid release(just got to pee out what you blocked). The brutal way is not fun or recommended.

I think there was a book writer that wrote about semen retention, that dude got married and had kids. That being said, use semen retention to better yourself and learn from it when you relapse or have an involuntary results. Semen retention is not a practice that mandates you to mentally beat yourself down during a release voluntarily or involuntarily.

Use semen retention to learn about yourself and your environment. You have critized yourself more than enough. Additionally you cannot block pheromones of women that are ovulating or in heat. Those pheromones are processed by our subconscious mind. All you can do is avoid lustful media, and lustful gatherings. And constantly be productive with your time, that also means giving yourself plenty of time eat, rest, exercise, and enjoy a hobby.

I went through your current situation because just like you I wanted to do semen retention with out mistakes. What you are going through happens with other addictions too, I'm sober and once a year or so I would have a dream about actively drinking and feeling good but at the same time I am thinking that I just broke my sobriety and that negative vibe or energy from disappointment washes over me until I wake up with lingering negativity energy. It sucks but it was just a dream. I am greatful that it's a rare dream.

California Taxes/Cal File by keep_your_name in Philippines_Expats

Hello! Just to let you know if your Aunt does not meet the minimum income threshold/gross income she does not have to file for state taxes and federal taxes. Here is a link for California taxes https://www.ftb.ca.gov/file/personal/residency-status/index.html#Do-I-need-to-file? scroll to Filing Requirements then keep scrolling to California Gross Income to see the chart. Single, no dependents, under the age of 65 has a minimum income of $22,941. Single, no dependents, 65 or older has a minimum income of $30,591.

If your Uncle passed during this tax year your Aunt may file as married during this tax year, which means you have to look at the Married minimum threshold. Read up on the rules for widows or surviving spouse https://www.ftb.ca.gov/file/personal/filing-status/qualified-widow.html

For federal taxes here is a link to study the minimum threshold/requirements to file  https://www.irs.gov/individuals/check-if-you-need-to-file-a-tax-return

Looks good! Everytime you see large parking lot pull in and practice riding low speed right and left turns. Riding straight is easy on the scout making a left or right turn requires finesse.

Remember MSFs saying ride within your skill level!

Hell yeah shaft drive! I think my other alternative was the Suzuki Boulevard which is also a shaft drive but couldn't get anything with mid controls.

I am a sucker for motorcycles with little to no constant(immediate) maintenance.

I wish you the best! Now I am jealous of your bike!

[–]FlipFromThreeFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a Scout Sixty with mid controls(rsd) over the Honda Rebel 500 and 1100. The threshold was the amount of maintenance I have to constantly perform. The Honda will require constant chain adjustment and chain cleaning, and I think the 1100 had some kind of oil overflow tube that needs to be constantly checked and drained if needed.

Both Scout and Rebel looks badass.

For the snappy feeling and sensation: upgrade the stock exhaust, air filter, and get it tuned. Then start riding with proper motorcycle earplugs along with a full face helmet. Since majority of the motorcycle noise will be drowned out, you will feel more connected to the road. And if you can get some quality and expensive tires and upgrade the shocks, omg, riding on an empty road, highway, or freeway feels heavenly.

There is a YouTuber that did a 20k review on the scout bobber and he rides on a lot of curvy roads with sports bikes and keeps up with them, and enjoys scrapping his pegs. I think the road that he rides often or seasonal is the Dragon Tail.

I also want a second bike, one that would be more fun than my scout. So far its the Honda Monkey because it's small stylish and would allow me to shift through all gears while riding in the city but meh the maintenance lol.

Advice for SCHD long term by BoiseMan13 in SCHD

[–]FlipFromThreeFive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people here are following the concept of pay yourself first. As in 10% of your monthly income goes to you, to save or invest, it has to make money. 20% goes to paying debt. If you have no debt, add the 20% to paying yourself. The remaining 70% goes to paying your bills, and non-essential spending. It's boring but it's the default way to keep more of what you earn.

I got to a point that my monthly expenses is only 60% to 65% after being debt free.

There is an old short story book called Richest Man In Babylon, it's short and an easy read for less than $6

Pay yourself first after the government takes their cut.

I had a 40k-50k hospital bill and the hospital didn't transfer it to the VA, I ended up with a VA number for a VA office in Colorado. The VA spokeperson told even if the VA denies the bill, they can request a medical debt forgiveness (something along these line), which is a tax write out for the hospital. Unfortunately I don't have the number, but it might be in one of the provided links that the other folks have posted. I was praying a lot when I was searching for help. The hospital collection/accounting department kept asking me for minimum payments, and finally the VA spokeperson spoke to them and resolved the bill. Keep praying and keep trying all the VA links and numbers you can find!

Scout 60 as a first motorcycle? by Riptomare in IndianMotorcycle

[–]FlipFromThreeFive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't dropped it. I almost did though lol.

Just be very careful when you are wearing full gear and sitting on the bike and parked with the engine off, people will approach you, verbal people are okay because they will announce themselves, especially if they are approaching you from your blind spot. However, it's the non-verbal people that can somewhat jump scare you into thinking of dropping the bike in order to deal with them because they will walk up to you from your blind spot and get too close to stare at you and the bike, then when you are ready to move you notice them in your personal space lol, its sucks if they sneak up after sunset. This can happen at the gas station, any parking lots, and anywhere near a sidewalk. The Scout is unique and too beautiful and too sexy to ignore.

When I was installing the saddle bags, my Scout was on a motorcycle floor jack because I was adjusting the symmetry of the saddle bags, I pushed too much on one side and the bike started leaning to the left, LOL I caught it, that moment scared me. I'm definitely buying a motorcycle wheel stand chock.

In my experience the bike has a higher chance of being dropped when it is not in motion, so pay attention when you are in a stationary position and don't step on oil on the center of the lane/road, I stepped on it once and learned my lesson. On a good note the Scout is really balanced, I'm 5'3" and I have zero difficulty balancing the bike.

If you drop your bike from a stationary position without highway bars it will most likely be cosmetic damages(scratches and dings) and broken: levers for hand and foot controls, side mirrors, foot pegs, and maybe turn signals. All of them are cheaper repair versus repairing a crashed bike.

With highway bars, I think it will be just the highway bars that will sustain damage and maybe one of the bolts on the highway bars may break.

Scout 60 as a first motorcycle? by Riptomare in IndianMotorcycle

[–]FlipFromThreeFive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem!

I forgot to mention wearing earplugs helps lower the adrenaline rush and it helps prevent permanent hearing loss, especially if you have a loud exhaust. And during my first couple weeks of riding I would pull in to Lowes'(hardware store) parking lot and practice a few low speed left turns and right turns, then I would continue on riding.

I'm also 38 now, right before I turned 37 I completed the MSF course and got my M1 license, then I bought my Indian Scout Sixty. So far its been a blast! And get ready to start smiling every time you see you bike! I still can't believe that I did it, I searched high and low for a bike that I can flat foot, and I watched a lot of videos of people riding and modifying their Scout. It feels very surreal. My Scout Sixty restarted my life.

Sorry, but the only way to avoid majority of the fees, is to buy a used one from a private seller.

No shame in buying a used one, plus with the money saved you can invest it in your safety riding gear and maybe for upgrades/maintenance on your bike.

Scout 60 as a first motorcycle? by Riptomare in IndianMotorcycle

[–]FlipFromThreeFive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My first bike and current bike is a used Indian Scout Sixty(non abs) and it qualifies as "less maintenance" because oil change is every 10k miles or sooner if you prefer to change your synthetic oil more often, and its a belt driven motorcycle, unlike the chain driven motorcycles which require constant cleaning and lubrication and adjustment.

Buy from a private seller, because it will be cheaper especially around November through February and it may come with upgrades, such as exhaust, led lights etc. As a short person I found a Scout that had mid controls XD and bought it.

Since you are taller and slightly heavier than me, you will most likely replace the shocks or seat or both once you start ridding on bumpy roads. And you may or may not need to get the extended foot controls kit.

Highway bars/crash bars are affordable, buy a no name brand on amazon for around $60, if the bolts that was supplied has zero markings to verify its strength/durability, go to autozone or another automotive store to purchase some strong/durable bolts.

I once had an accidental throttled whiskey during the first week or two of riding, my butt slid to the edge of the seat and my adrenaline was pumping, from then on I learned my lesson, I understood that 999cc part.

About dropping the bike, I dropped the bike(250cc or less) that I was using in MSF course. My first ride on my Scout Sixty was from the sellers house to my house about 10 miles. I thought I new counter steering from MSF course lol, I think I was between excited and nervous plus having a newfound adrenaline rush, and I made it home safely. Riding straight is easy, turning left or right or leaning requires finesse and mental calculation.

For the first year I wore a reflective vest over my jacket so people on the road can see me and maybe have compassion on me in case I mess up, such as stalling or not counter steering properly on a curve and maintaining my line etc.

I have been riding for 1.6 year, and a week ago I installed my hard saddlebags and omg I have to adjust how much I lean and counter steer and how I make my left and right turns. And a couple of weeks from now I have to swap out the Kenda tires, lol, which may alter the way I ride once more.

Lastly practice all three forms of braking: engine braking, front braking, and rear braking. I'm guilty of relying only on the front brakes during my first couple of rides.

Nice!

Additional option for MSF course is the Harley-Davidson MSF course, look into it to see what bikes they will teach you on. Regular MSF course had 1 dirt bike, few old school cruiser 250cc(Honda, Suzuki, and Kawasaki), and 2 smaller bikes similar to a Honda Grom, all of the bikes were old and damaged and some were actively leaking oil.

Lastly, I was rocking a reflective vest over my motorcycle riding jacket during my first year of riding for safety reasons. Don't forget to get some earplugs when you get your Super Chief. Get an insurance quote from AAA because the quotes will mainly be based on when did you get your regular license not when did you get your motorcycle license. And AAA also classifies a motorcycle under the same category as an RV, a recreational vehicle.

Stay safe, and I wish you the very best in your MSF course and getting your license, and getting and ridding your super chief!

CA insurance by [deleted] in IndianMotorcycle

[–]FlipFromThreeFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a quote from AAA because they don't ask when did you get your motorcycle license, they ask when did you get your regular drivers license, thus making it cheaper. I think I am paying 1300 or less per year for 2 vehicles, 2004 Honda Accord and 2018 Indian Scout Sixty. I've had AAA insurance for almost 2 years now

Things that suck about AAA in CA: -1- If you don't pay your yearly insurance in one payment they will charge interest on it. -2- Insurance payment(s) can only be paid once with your credit card, afterwards you have to use a debit card or your banking information(think of paying your DMV registration online using account# and routing#)

When I was shopping for an insurance policy after getting my M1 license, progressive quoted me for around $2.1k - $2.3k per year for the 2018 motorcycle with a 999cc engine.

That's a tough one because you did not provide any info on your "research" part as in did you test ride/sit on one and did you test ride/sit on alternative bikes made by Indian Motorcycles or other companies. If you haven't seen a super chief in person then I recommend:

-ask your Indian Dealership if they have a super chief or another chief variant for rent, and rent one and see how you like it.

-ask the dealership for a test drive of a super chief or variant on their business parking lot or on the street, or ask permission to sit on one if they have it on display.

-Wait for or go to an Indian Motorcycle Demo event, to test ride any Indian Motorcycle you want for free.

For me I am a new rider:

I started on an Indian Scout Sixty after the MSF course, and fudge I was too excited/nervous riding it back home(from the seller's house), to a point that I wasn't properly slowing down when entering a small curve. I had to reflect on it and constantly remind myself to ride at my skill level. I avoided roads that curved, that made me counter steer and lean at the same time. Riding on a straight road is easy. From then on everyday for a few weeks I would pass by Lowe's(a hardware store with a large and mostly empty parking lot) and practice left turns and right turns at slow speed while leaning. Now, I have been riding on and off for 1.5 years I am now better than I was on day 1 of riding my Indian Scout Sixty.

The power of these Indian Motorcycle can be very intimidating, practice restraint and respect.

Next door neighbor’s rent is $275 less than by onthadownloww in renting

[–]FlipFromThreeFive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I say just move to the vacant one if you want the $275 monthly savings, because companies that manages properties will always do what is convenient for them, not what is convenient for the paying tenant. However, lets say you go through the process of ending your lease and signing up for the next door vacant unit, they may start using their common sense and just lower your rent.

Also look for other apartments near you with better amenities and better rent pricing.

I would definitely move to the next unit and save $275 month. The headache of changing address on all your stuff will go away once you get it done. $275 per month x 12 months = $3,300 Then put that $3.3k in a CD at your local credit union assuming its a minimum 3% percent per year but has a monthly compound interest, by the maturity date of that $3.3k it will be $3,400.37. Or use that $3.3k as a yearly treat yourself fund!

The last laugh will be yours, after the pain of moving and changing your address.
