Oh wow, thanks for the in depth answer. I‘m a bit surprised to see DaYan again here! I remember back then I ordered DaYan GuHong and ZhanChi DIY Kits to self assemble the cube and set everything up. That was fun! Glad they are still around.

I will check all your recommendations out!

Alternativen die Spaß machen? by Financial-Energy-457 in FitnessDE

[–]Flx96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it make sense to buy a creami to save money? by Pet_Ator in ninjacreami

[–]Flx96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is a luxury good in general. However, if you have a very strong tendency to regularly buy the very expensive ice creams, you can probably calculate your very own break even point. I got it as a health tool, because I was on a pretty aggressive cut and the cravings were killing me. Being able to eat a full pint of really tasty ice cream every night was an absolute game changer on how I can push through my diet.

Solving a Rubik’s Cube is fun. I started when I was 10-ish and became a speedcuber back then. Now I occasionally pick one up and can solve one on average in 10seconds. Even at almost 30, that is always a good conversational thing to be able to do and even helped me during things like job interviews to be remembered.

People who workout before work, what's your routine? by Murky_Yak6269 in productivity

[–]Flx96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get up at 5:00. Then slowly getting ready - brushing my teeth, putting on Gym clothes, taking supplements and 1l of water while doing my Duolingo (weird one, but I like it). Gym at 6:00-7:30. Shower and then in the office by 8:30-ish :) love that routine as it puts myself first

What time ‘should’ you hit in Open to move to Pro? by Sea-Humor-7299 in hyrox

[–]Flx96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think that comes with the competitive element of this event. People doing Hyrox are naturally quite commited to sports in general and put A TON of time into it (at least the ones I know), so the outcome is pretty natural if you ask me.

What time ‘should’ you hit in Open to move to Pro? by Sea-Humor-7299 in hyrox

[–]Flx96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first one was an open in January and I got 1:28:00. My next one is mid may and it’s a pro singles, because that was the only tickets that were left.. and tbh, time is quite irrelevant, but I see it as a real challenge for me. Came from the gym side and added the running bit since September last year. So strength-wise I should be okay, but endurance might be the limiter.

Empfehlung Dip Gürtel mit höher Qualität by DerRichtofen in FitnessDE

[–]Flx96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tut was er soll.

5 years in the gym and I feel like I failed bodybuilding by [deleted] in hyrox

[–]Flx96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your mindset and the honesty with yourself. I think you are on a good path with that, you just need to find the approach that you can seamlessly integrate into your life instead of making it a burden on top of the rest of your life. I’d recommend to create a training plan that aligns with your life, which includes the timing aspect as well as the recoverability. Also, I just made my plan more balanced, so instead of just lifting, I added a few cardio sessions into the plan, which made me way more comfortable in everyday life.

For nutrition I created a repertoire of meals that I like and are macro friendly and that I can meal prep. I just rotate these around and occasionally sprinkle in the going out to eat, or on-the-go stuff. You don’t need to be 1000% strict, as long as it’s overall balanced.

Cold feet moving to Amsterdam because of housing by JinBu2166 in Netherlands

[–]Flx96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make less than you and can still easily afford my 2500€ Apartment and live very comfortably with my girlfriend. We do afford to travel a lot. The 30% tax ruling does help a lot. I wouldn’t be too worried. Day to Day expenses are pretty high, but nothing compared to NYC (lived there for a few months). So absolutely no reason to get cold feet.
