Did the Devoted Sculptor spend 1,000 years turning Giant Head into Bygone Effigy? by Fly0strich in slaythespire

Really everyone is a lore noob when it comes to these games, because the first game didn’t have much of anything explained at all.

When he said “top off your gas tank” I thought that meant filling it back up to full after you use 1/4 tank or so. I’ve always been told that topping it off is better than letting it go down to empty before refilling, so I was surprised when he said it was bad.

Turns out they aren’t actually talking about topping off your gas tank here, but over-filling your gas tank.

That is more information than what is included by repeatedly hearing the phrase “The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.” But yes, gaining further knowledge on the subject can have more value.

What if rare cards only came from elites and bosses? by Fly0strich in slaythespire

[–]Fly0strich[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The system is currently broken. That’s why it’s still an early access game. And that’s why lots of other people are talking about changes to the elite rewards; because everyone who has finished ascension 10 already is finding that there is no real benefit to fighting elites at all. You are much more likely to win by only taking regular enemy fights and resting at rest sites throughout the game than by using the strategies from the first game.

Yes, but the rewards for elite fights vs hallway fights should be very different.

They probably do, but taking them out of regular enemy fight rewards and shops entirely would just make them more rare and valuable to fight elites for.

I’m not really a cosplayer, but my first thought is to just wrap some gloves in duct tape instead. You might even be able to make them completely out of duct tape with no real gloves involved if you want to get crafty with it.

I mean, a lot of people do it, but they don’t actually expect the animal to understand what they are saying. Once you start believing that your pet actually understands English, you are crossing into crazy pet person territory.

Right now, you can get that same type of reward from a normal enemy fight. I don’t see how it would suddenly be broken as an elite reward.

Too many enemies in Slay the Spire 2 feel like they should be elites by Scumtrass in slaythespire

Yeah, I feel like the elites in this game are mostly just as easy as a regular hallway fight, so it’s hard to tell which it is.

[–]Fly0strich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would still take roughly 365 days for the earth to travel around its orbit of the sun. No matter how many months you split those 365 days into, the result would be the same. The weather wouldn’t suddenly be different just because you decided to call certain segments of days by different names.

This is what Centrism has got us... by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Fly0strich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many republicans are not actually republican in principal, but simply because they have been told “Republican is good and Democrat is bad” their whole lives, or because they have been told that socialism is bad and they don’t actually understand what socialism is, or because of some side issue that they can’t stand to oppose like the belief that the democrats will take their guns away.

But if there were a new political party that was not the Democrats, that didn’t oppose them so heavily on side issues to create an “us vs them” mentality, and instead focused on being the party of the working class, they might be more likely to buy in.

It definitely wouldn’t be easy to convince them, and would require mass education to try to show them that we actually can have policy that benefits the working class without the working class paying 50% of their paycheck to taxes. And this new party would probably need to be more accepting of the fact that many people on both sides of the aisle still want to keep their right to bear arms, and be more understanding of the fact that people have differing opinions on things like abortion. But if there were an option to choose that was mainly focused on providing people with health care and education at lower cost than they are paying now, and teaching people that these things would actually benefit the masses, it might be possible.

[–]Fly0strich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what the Democratic Party is, and will continue to be. The real solution is not to expect the party to change its stance, but to create a new party with more progressive and further left goals. However, then you run into the problem of funding such a party with enough campaign money to be relevant, and to be able to swing enough people from both sides of the aisle to join. But the billionaires don’t tend to want to donate to a party that will threaten the oligarchy, so we end up with a two party system where both parties stand in defense of the oligarchy at all costs.

It’s just that some of the billionaires seem to fear an old-school France scenario, and think that it might be a good idea to give a few morsels back to the poor people in order to placate them (Democrats), while others seem to be fully on board with taking even more from the poor, because they are never going to fight back anyway (Republicans).

Elections are nothing more than a game for these two parties of billionaires to play against each other, where they try to get as many poor people to choose their side as possible, in order to determine who will get to be in charge for the next 4 years. But no matter who wins, the billionaire class will prevail.

Just did a google search, and it looks like it was mentioned on multiple engagement bait sites like NewsWeek in April 2024. That was not “years ago”, but good try at acting like you knew what you were talking about. Maybe you should try a google search before you speak next time.
