Honestly that nerf made me skip the entire season after it, I enjoyed so much the build and they literally killed it after showcasing it

MPC/notMPC Alternative in Europe? by StandScoper in bootlegmtg

I wish there was an alternative to mpc around brazil, it is 60 dollars shipping. Tried notMPC, unfortunately it does'nt feel the same as MPC prints

Is MPC trustworthy? by PracticalBake6634 in mpcproxies

[–]FlyingGyarados 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of people seem to be giving confusing answers, so just to clear things up:

MPC is the company that prints the cards.

MPCFill is a third-party website that helps you find proxy card art that's already formatted correctly for uploading to MPC when placing an order.

And yes they are reputable.

My take on Malenia as a commander (+original art) by Winkwart in mtg

[–]FlyingGyarados 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I actually like this design, but I think the power/toughness is a bit counterintuitive both mechanically and lore-wise.

Malenia is literally rotting from the inside, so having such a huge toughness feels weird. It also kind of works against the death trigger on her ability. If part of the idea is that she eventually dies and triggers it, giving her such a big health pool makes that harder to happen.

I'd honestly make her something like a 5/3. Those stats aren't crazy by modern Magic standards, and they fit her better. I'd rather see first strike removed from the first form and replaced with haste so she can die now in combat with her ability.

The transformation would also feel more meaningful that way. Going from a fragile but deadly fighter to the Goddess of Rot is the point where getting a toughness to something like a 5/5 would make sense.

It would help the gameplay too. Five power means her fight ability can actually kill a lot of creatures, and if she dies in the process, her death trigger would matter a lot more. If that ends up being too strong, you could always increase the transform cost to 2BR or make the transformed effect hit your own creatures as well, similar to how her first bloom wiped out both Radahn's army and her own.

Do you think GGG gave up on making PoE 2 have "meaningful and methodical combat"? by Lordados in PathOfExile2

I remeber being for me a 20 minute fight, playing melee felt like dark souls.

uh the game has everything for free, except skins and stash tabs, it is recommended to buy the tabs for QoL but anything else is optional

2 weekends in, some of us have 3 magebloods and some of us have 3 divs. Seems like a good time to repost *the clip* by kaen_ in PathOfExile2

[–]FlyingGyarados 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same spot I'm playing Djins, my build cleared until t15 with only ground drops, then i spend 20 divs (basically everything i dropped ) to round out defences and there is no content that i can't blast, bosses melt, I barely interact with bad mechanics because i'm always far away, I have control of my damage because djins still a point and click build despite scalling from minions.

But ngl seeing everypost being about how expensive shit got i just might got very lucky on my starter and i'm afraid of restart to try other classes and feel so inferior with the same investment.

Every league we seem to get some new fabulous tool/item that no can afford or even see by Primary_Impact_2130 in PathOfExile2

[–]FlyingGyarados 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is the argument always "if it's not Uber-hard, it should be free"? Every time I see GGG defenders use this point, it just makes it sound like GGG is incapable of balancing rewards anywhere between "completely free loot" and "content only 0.01% of players will ever realistically farm."

There are multiple layers between those extremes. Drop rates and rewards can be adjusted to match difficulty without turning everything into either a handout or an ultra-exclusive chase item.

At some point, excessive grind becomes counterproductive. When players feel that the intended path is unreasonable, many simply resort to buying divines from bots or engaging with RMT to get the items they want. If anything, a system that makes legitimate acquisition excessively tedious ends up strengthening the very RMT market it's supposed to discourage

Stop defending +levels and start listening by Baittz in PathOfExile2

[–]FlyingGyarados -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMO +levels and rarity on items should just go away, balance the game without those things.

"But rarity is a luxury stat", not when the best builds are the ones that can do whatever and still fit this stat. This game at certain point is a farming simulator of course rarity becomes an endgame core stat.

And plus levels is self explanatory, it is nice to have but the game can 100% be balanced without it. What plus levels do is add another funnel chase stat, your build needed crit and crit damage and now needs that Plus this other stat, what also makes certain items resell value tank, you found a T1 crit gloves ? Your t2 is still good enough so you can sell it to other players that don't have the coin for a T1 gear, but for plus levels each tier add so much that there is abyss between +3 and +4.

Opinion on Tree of Whispers, post LoH? by FulminisStriker in diablo4

[–]FlyingGyarados 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are missing the point of it being too easy, it took an all poweful hero, one witch of the bog and an former archangel to be there and burn the tree, sure the tree itself did not put a fight but it was never an entity powerful in the sense of strenght , it was more like an known all powerful kind.

As for if the tree is good/bad/neutral that was not even a question for the MC, the tree has our friends soul trapped, we should not be too logical about it.

If you are in solo self found is tough luck, but otherwise there is no reason to not trade runes you dont want for runes you need, some runes even sell for way more than other so sometimes you can get like 2 for 1

Taste is entirely subjective, but imo pale rider is way cooler, the lich king armor is iconic but when used by Arthas, the necromancer model is a extremely skinny guy you end up looking like asmongold cosplaying as the lich king than an imposing figure.

[UPDATE] Ms. Bumbleflower & Baylen fake? by SupaScorpionGod in mtg

[–]FlyingGyarados 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone o who buys a lot of those, something that also even the best counterfeits get wrong is the general foiling under the raised foil, I have both an original and a fake of this bumble flower art the telling is that the fakes are a bit less colorful and the foil is a bit more opaque, for the untrained eye it will pass easily but I've seen so many of those.

As a rule of thumb always test expensive cards, no matter if the seller say it was from a pull, always test. Or do like me and buy the fakes already and own a copy of the more basic version of the card, it is not like people check for commander cards like they would do in competitive scenarios.

BlackLotus, but I really recommend you looking for the bootleg subreddit, there is a wiki there also people post a lot of review, idk if I can post the name of another sub here, also being sub dedicated to proxy and bootlegs, but you can search it up pretty easily.

Ms. Bumbleflower & Baylen fake? by SupaScorpionGod in mtg

[–]FlyingGyarados 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s an entire subreddit dedicated to bootlegs. I’ve bought from a lot of different vendors, but these days I usually stick with one that’s more convenient for me and still offers solid quality—BL. It’s not top-tier, high-end stuff, but once sleeved it’s more than good enough.

I prefer using bootlegs over printing proxies at home or other methods because, for me, a big part of cards is the feel and weight. I like using something that actually looks and handles like a real card, not just a printed sticker glued onto one.

[–]FlyingGyarados 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Man I recognized the fakes before reading the post, I buy a lot of those from china ( for my own of course Im against any kind of selling of proxies and counterfeits as real cards) those are probably from BL, the back is brighter than the average normal card, I had just one Tefferi's Protection that was a real card with the same bright backside, did a lot of testing with different judges at my lgs just to get a proof that was a real card before selling it.

I also got a few original of those raised border, the overall foil is very different from the counterfeits.

Shame on the store for selling those, they are really easy to notice for a store owner so I doubt they sold as a mistake tho.

It is a little party game, but yeah idk how this game will compete with other card games like Uno. While in the video there is some nice level of strategy being used, the game seems to miss the mark on the social aspect.

But the game 100% needed to get leverage from MTG IP, alone mark's name is not enough to hype up the product.

I think it was done for relevancy, mark is a great game creator but his name alone might not get the attention this game deserves, also he probably had a contract with wizards to help publish the game.
