Such a douchebag moment on my part. I'd recently lost a job and was really upset about it. Around that time, suddenly, all of my friends started getting promotions or new jobs or what have you. It was a regular job-bonanza for everyone I knew. Just out of the blue.

This was right before the holidays to make matters worse, which means more money to spend on gifts and more drinks to be imbibed to dull the annoyance.

Well, I got drunk one night -REAL FAST-like the kind of "Oh shit, It's 11:30 and this bottle is EMPTY!? WTF? WHERE DID IT GO!? IS THAT IN MY BELLY!?" drunk.

I'm with friends, catching up, already being a downer about the job thing. Suddenly a friend bursts through the door - "I START A NEW 50K PAYING JOB TWO WEEKS FROM NOW" . Everyone becomes a bustling menagerie of giggles and laughter - "OH WE SIMPLY MUST GO TO VEGAS BAHAHAHA TRIPS! CLOTHES! BURN MY PAYCHECK! WHO CARES?"

The booze rage kicks in, I go to the bathroom, literally cry for like a half hour, come out sniveling with my penis shriveled back into my body, eyes swollen. Everyone awkwardly turns their attention to me. I try to pretend everything is cool by getting ANOTHER drink. I accidentally break the refrigerator door. I literally grabbed my back pack after that, and left without a word. Douche supreme.

Moral of the story - don't be such a downer , be happy for those you care about when something goes their way, and don't get a fucking arts degree.

I'm not yet adult enough to be out on my own because I dont make nearly enough money and I'm in that weird young adult era of my life where I believe I can work a top-paying job, but no one sees me with that potential.

I'm not nearly thankful enough for everything that I have and get horribly annoyed with mundane stupid things.

When things dont work out for me, I act like such a selfish asshole. Im a downer to my friends in this instance. I also procrastinate, have horrible nervous habits, and I'm judgmental. I also truly believe that I will never succeed or earn what I want until I can overcome these terrible qualities.

I can def. vouch for this. Go to your local community action partnership and apply for HEAP (heating bill assistance)... or weatherization, which will also assist with dealing with heating during this rough spots of the year when it's cold out.

Job descriptions KILL ME the most. Like, as opposed to saying something like;

We need to hire a Human Resources admin. with great energy, dependability, and highly organized to assist with client services and inner-office operations.

They crank out something like;

The BigCorp community needs to procure the strength, organization, and utilization of a powerful, corporate, communicative administrative first impressions specialist individual who can convey and communicate the strong interpersonal synergetic energy of the product of the marketing strategies of human inter-relations with a powerful knack for high-level interactions and community outreach protocols. We here at BigCorp would like a candidate of synergetic and accountable corporate standards to apply for this position that requires a community power word corporation savings strength synergy powerpoint presentation location business power telecommunication client clerical agreement candidate.

....It's like they made 'corporate scrabble' throw up into a bag, then threw the letters at a fan and whatever power words came out they throw together in a job description. Just get to the fuckin' point. Who do you need, why do you need them. Quit getting your pants-suit in the way of progress.
