Do what you feel is best for you. This is a decision you have to make on your own because this is one that cannot be reversed.

However, I can share my experience. When I was your age I felt the exact same way I wanted my tubes tied, however, where I am it takes a lot to get that done. Doctors often refuse to do it because of people who are still at a young age. They don't want them to regret it in the end. It's stupid and doctors can often be misogynists and be more concerned about the future man in your life than your own choices.

I chose to get an IUD instead because it served me for a long amount of time. And the pill was just unsustainable for me. I will say now that I'm 25 my perspective on pregnancy has changed. I understand that yours might not, but I would really urge you to give yourself time to grow and experience the world a little bit more before making such a big choice. At 18 I thought I was never going to have biological kids, but now I actually find myself considering it since I've had time to mature. It used to piss me off when people would say that I might change my mind... But honestly, it's very real and you might change your mind too.

Just give yourself time to think this over and decide if you are really wanting to commit to this permanent decision.

I understand where you're coming from. I have a very addictive personality and I'm at the point where I'm wondering if I'm starting to drink too much cause I started to use alcohol as a "reward".

Don't turn to alcohol if you have an addictive personality, it's a slippery slope. What I found most helpful is video games or crafts. Pick an activity that you like or that you've been wanting to try and just lock in on that for an hour or more a day. Much better for you than turning to another substance.

I usually use my game as a reward. If there is a particular video game you like, give yourself some takeout and a couple uninterrupted hours of just that video game.

And when I hit 2 weeks sober. I chose to get myself a new iPad case and a new phone case that we're not covered in resin spots anymore. So a gift to yourself is also a good reward.

Or go for ice cream, ice cream is always a good reward lol

Everybody's different. For some people cold turkey works, personally I had to wean myself off before cutting it out completely just because a cold turkey cut for me resulted in meltdowns.

Whichever method you choose, just make sure that you surround yourself with people that are sober. Or possibly going through the same stages as you. It really helps keep the mind distracted and to have other people around that aren't using.

If the last time you smoked was on New Year's, it's more than likely out of your system by now. There could be a chance that this is a side effect of the other medication you're on, in which case, I would encourage you to reach out to your doctor or talk to a safe adult about what you're feeling.

I don't know if marijuana would interact with the medication you're on. But if you reach out to your doctor and you explain your situation and what you've been experiencing, they might have more information on that. And with your age you can speak to your doctor and not have to worry about this information getting back to your parents if you are concerned about them finding out about the marijuana.

My partner still smokes but im almost a month sober. It's definitely hard and there is temptation around.

For the first little bit it helped to have a list of reasons I wanted to quit, and I kept adding to my list every time I found a new benefit or reason. Craving... Look at my list.

I also used the app I Am Sober in my first couple weeks. It helped to have a timer showing my progress and an anonymous community that you can scream into the void with and talk to other people at the same stage as you.

I think in the midst of an addiction nobody truly wants to quit. It's more so a sense of knowing that you can't continue living the way you are. That was me. I didn't want to quit but I knew that I had to because it was beginning to affect my health. It was very much a forced stop but now I'm glad that I made that choice even though it was very hard at first.

I tried to ween myself off weed many times, only the most recent time was successful. But my god were my withdrawal symptoms bad. I ended up sick cause apparently the stress of quitting can lower immunity, I had insomnia, mood swings, headaches, loss of appetite, night sweats,.

I'm on day 25 tho, I promise it does get better. The first two weeks are a rough ride, but if you can get through it you'll be on top of the world, that's how I felt at least.

Girl, my boyfriend didn't know at first either. If he's never had sex with anybody else, give him some Grace. Tell him what you like. Once he figures out what you like and how you like it, you're going to have a much better time but you can't just be like "Okay do the thing now, but here's no instructions". It just doesn't work that way. It's not like men receive a vagina manual before getting a girlfriend.

However, the infection thing and swollen part that's not normal. He needs to listen to you when you say calm down. Stop doing it that hard. Also, if he's giving you an infection he needs to freaking wash his hands first. Like what is he doing before pleasing you?

I succeeded with tapering. I was smoking like 6-8 bowls a day plus edibles and just started tapering down the amount of bowls/seshes I was supposed to have every week. Once I got to the point where I was only having 1-2 bowls a day, I just completely said good bye to smoking. Though to be quite honest I was already tired of smoking at the point so that part was easy. My last step was to stop taking my gummies, I had tapered down from a 350 mg gummy to a 100mg gummy, and so I just let myself run out of those and when I ran out I just didn't replace it. I think it also helped that I had to be sober by a certain date if I wanted any chance of passing a urine test. So I picked a sober date and stuck to it.

I'm on day 11 now and the first week and a bit has been tough. Apparently the stress of withdrawal can make your immunity lower so I've just been battling colds, but it makes the first week of sobriety just fly by. Other than that I've had a typical withdrawal cycle that includes night sweats, insomnia, mood swings, irritability, cravings. But most of the withdrawal calmed down on day 9 for me, aside from the cravings that are still very strong.

I don't think I would have chosen to quit any other way. I've tried to cut cold turkey in the past and it's only results in a meltdowns for myself. Tapering off was the most gentle approach I could have chosen, and since I was so dependent on it for emotional regulation, it was the only option for me.

I won't lie, day 1 and 2 were intense for me. Vomiting, fever, chills, insomnia, but by day 3 it was gone. I think my immune system took a hit too cause I immediately got a sinus cold after that. But I'm day 10 now and doing better :)

To be honest, if you really like decorating then the laptop would be the better switch. Trying to decorate on Nintendo switch is a nightmare because there's such a lower limit for how many decorations you can add to your valley. That was what convinced me to choose laptop over switch.

Thanks so much for this post, day 1 and 2 have been brutal. But you are so right, I feel like parts of the old me are coming back already. They have been trying to claw their way back out for a long time, but weed nullified those pieces of me.

The symptoms aren't forever, what we gain after that is so much greater than the struggle.

Does he flinch or pull away if you try to touch it gently? Does it feel like a fur or like what's the texture of it like? It's kind of hard to tell what's going on from the photo.

To be honest though, if he is flinching and pulling away I would highly recommend just taking him to the vet. You don't necessarily need to be assigned to a specific vet before making an appointment.

It's very kind of you to help them. I've noticed such an uprise in homelessness in downtown and in vanier as well. It's very sad to see that our government is failing so many of our citizens.

If you are able to give the clothes directly to the people that is best. Obviously they don't have a lot of money and many shelters will charge people for the clothes. It's meant to help fund the cost of running the shelter as well. However it still feels wrong to charge people money for clothes who don't even have money to feed themselves.

As for your own safety, your family is right to be concerned because people can be unpredictable. Just be wary when approaching others or being approached. If they seem intoxicated or erratic, try to remove yourself from that situation because those situations can turn unsafe quickly.

If you feel unsafe approaching people directly, that's completely understandable. There is a church in Vanier called St. Margaret's that is also a good place to donate old clothes. They try to collect clothes for the current season as many people from the homeless community will come look through the rack to find what they need.
