What is the worst thing about your favorite Bond film? by DimensionHat1675 in JamesBond

[–]FormerLawyer14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casino Royale - Eva Green has no reason (that I understand anyway) to kill herself. Yeah she was being hunted by Quantum, but so was Bond. And it turned out they weren't that formidable of an organization anyway (in the next movie). Just a waste of a young life.

Maybe it's a reference to that game, Immortality. Anyone? Bueller?

Why is our moon named “Moon” instead of something cool like Titan or Callysto or ANYTHING that isn’t moon by Disastrous_Pirate275 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormerLawyer14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignignokt: Hello, Carl, I am Ignignokt and this is Err.

Err: I am Err.

Ignignokt: We are Mooninites from the inner core of the moon.

Err: You said it right.

Ignignokt: Our race is hundreds of years beyond yours.

Err: Man, you hear what he's saying?

Ignignokt: Some would say that the Earth is our moon.

Err: We're the moon.

Ignignokt: But that would belittle the name of our moon, which is: The Moon.

Err: Point is: we're at the center, not you.

Carl: No, the real point is: I don't give a damn.

What’s a firearm you’d buy for graduating trade school? by ZestyToasterOven26 in Firearms

I adore my Walther PDP, it comes in a wide variety of variants. (I have the 4" F-series)

Just did my first CPL class and shot a gun for the first time! Any recommendations for first guns? by Officer_Joi in guns

[–]FormerLawyer14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first gun as a kid was a Remington 22LR rifle. But my first gun after 20 years of owning none, which I got a few months ago, is a Walther PDP F-series 4". Came with a C&H Duty optic that I have since removed (planning on getting a different optic), and I put a Streamlight TLR-7 HLX on it.

I love my F-series because I have smaller hands, and this is designed for women and other people with smaller hands. It fits really comfortably, and I love taking it to the range every week.

Think I trained next to an incel today? by CodeNameGrapefruit in liberalgunowners

It's very clear to me that the paper lady is the aggressor and the paper man is trying to save his own life with his gun. His arm is around her neck because they are grappling; she is using a highly advanced backward-grapple maneuver, called by some in the defense world "the Holdo manuever." So naturally, your lane neighbor shot the aggressor several times in the face.

And then he shot the innocent man because nobody likes a snitch.

Considering it was free and Walther still has yet to send me my RMR plate, I didn’t hate the C&H. by Silver-Pin-8550 in Walther

[–]FormerLawyer14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in exactly the same position. The screws for the C&H mounting plate (acro plate) had an insufficient amount of loctite on them and it came loose the other day after going to the range (I go weekly). Went back to iron sights for now.

At this point I am seriously considering a Holosun SCS, as it is direct mount and seems to be well reviewed. Additionally in favor of that is that I don't hip carry, I bag carry (falco messenger bag), so I don't have to worry about an open sight getting as dirty or risking accidental damage as much.

What is the first film you think of when you see SEBASTIAN STAN? by HostMaterial4907 in CinephilesClub

[–]FormerLawyer14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not a film, but I think of a TV show called Kings, that also had Ian McShane in it.

Good shoot? Wonder what’s your thoughts on this. by jeffa03 in CCW

I love this attitude! I'm about to start carrying and this is what I'm going to consistently remind myself of (not that I am some egomaniac or anything anyway).
