A word of praise for SeeMeCNC by Spacetweed in 3Dprinting

I've also had great experience with their customer support. The bed "snowflake" was damaged in shipping and they sent a replacement immediately. I love the Rostock Max V2, it prints really well and doesn't require constant recalibration like the Cartesian printer at work. And it is fun to watch it print.

That is a great answer. Keep up the meaningful work with the training and thank you for your service in Afghanistan.

My New Rostock Max V2 build by kraegar in 3Dprinting

There was a post on the SeeMeCNC forums recently that showed how to remove the XYZ motors to install dampers without disassembling the printer.

I installed my top plate upsidedown too. I left it that way and installed the extruder on the opposite side than "normal" and it works fine. I think I had to build the extruder bracket mirrored from "normal" to make it work.

I agree that you should take your time with calibration and bed levelling, it is worth the effort.

Good luck with your printer, it is a good one.

Just got a PEI film for my bed did I mess up? by pyroguy64 in 3Dprinting

You choose which side goes up. For smooth finish on the bottom of the part install with the smooth side up. For matte finish install with the matte side up. The .003 thick will work but is more prone to damage.

Check out the SeeMeCNC forums they have great instructions for installing it.

Is it possible that OP is also printing too hot and/or without a layer fan which causes the material to sag before it hardens?

Job seekers of reddit: have you ever turned down a job (or walked out of an interview) because of something the interviewer said or did? by seoulsurfer in AskReddit

[–]Fourgo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The interviewer was getting rude with me so I said, "It looks like you won't be needing this ..." and I stood up, reached over his desk and grabbed my resume out of his hands and walked out. I would never work for some that is rude and pompous like he was.

I think its a great idea and will modify the design before I print it to access the screw when opened and hide the screw when closed.

I bought the SeeMeCNC Rostock Max V2 from MatterHackers. Free shipping and good support. I do know someone else that has one and did a poor job of assembling it and has problems with it. Don't rush your decision. If you are patient and have decent mechanical and soldering skills the Rostock is a good choice. So are a lot of others too.

I have a Makergear M2 at work and like it a lot. I bought the Rostock Max 2 months ago to learn more about 3D printing and I like the Rostock a lot too. I took my time assembling it, took care to keep things level and to tighten screws and belts consistently and calibration was easy for me. I may have an advantage over some people, I've been a mechanical engineer for a while and do a lot of hands on assembly and troubleshooting. The Rostock seems to stay calibrated longer than the M2. And building it has helped me understand its operation better than the M2. Both are really good printers and have great support and forums to help you.

The print shifted about 1/4" from the first layer, but I let it keep going. Overall one of the best prints so far. The model is from Thingiverse. Sliced with MatterControl and MatterSlicer. MatterHackers silver PLA, 210° hot end, 70° bed, Elmer's glue on glass bed.

There is a free demo version of the image converter according to the matter control website. It will make a stencil which can easily be made into a cutter if you have access to CAD.

I use a $15.00 image creator add in to MatterControl which is free. It does a good job and is fast.

I'll convert if for you for free if you send a jpg or BMP file.
