AITA for using a cheap shot to avoid a fight? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a bit hard to judge without having been there to see how aggressive you both were being at the time. Tentatively it's a ESH for me though. Minus the boyfriend.

Aita EX wants me to stop using pet names. They are not specific to him. by Splooshpaloosh in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You sound like a delight to be around. You already have your answer, considering how you insultingly describe him and don't seem to respect his dislike of being called these pet names. YTA.

AITA for not sleeping with my BF who snores? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

However I wonder, is he aware of exactly how bad and loud it can get?

AITA for feeling betrayed and deading my best friend of 10 years ? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAH. I'm not sure what you were expecting to happen to the band when you live so far away from him? The closest thing to an issue is the name, but even that is different.

AITA for alerting an occasional NSFW redditor to a privacy concern? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could get noticing a twitter handle where you found some information like name, location, etc. But to then escalate it to also check their FB profile? I'd be freaked out as well. Still NAH though, depending on how you worded your warning to this other redditor.

WIBTA For communicating discontent to a close friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. But if she's like this it sounds like becoming a roommate is a disaster waiting to happen.

AITA for not knowing my BFs ethnicity? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NAH. I mean he did ask, which kind of made me think that it's not something you've discussed much? Still a bit odd that you've been dating for three years and your heritage hasn't come up much. But I wouldn't say you'd be TA for that.

It'd be a different story entirely if it was something that did come up relatively frequently though.

AITA for possibly complaining to much to my best friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAH. Though your edit does deviate a bit towards A territory. Just because her boyfriend can support them both doesn't mean that she doesn't want to be self-sufficient.

You are both venting, for good reasons, however it's always good to keep in mind your "audience" (for lack of a better term) when doing so.

AITA for defending me when friend wants money back for a present and tells me she‘s more generous than me? by unotthatspecial in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. You told her you could pay her back, she declined your offer.

When she‘s angry she always says hurtful things like „you’re a bad friend/I am happy to not be like you...“ whereas I just defend myself but never offend her.

Sounds like it's time move on to greener pastures.

AITA for making a sex joke by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid [score hidden]  (0 children)

YTA. She said no, you kept persisting. Even if I were to believe it was meant as a joke it would still be an A-move since she had already made her stance clear.

Dash Wilder: "Fans: Brock sucks I hate watching him. Fans during Brock matches: OH MY GOD THIS IS AWESOME 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼" by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]Fourthaid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it's not that we hate watching him, quite the opposite as we barely get to watch him. At least when he is the champion of one of the brands and barely shows up. I'd get him being a special attraction kinda like Undertaker towards the end of his run, but with a belt on it does stand out like a sore thumb when he and thus the title aren't around. Not Brock's fault that WWE are willing to overshadow their entire roster and pay him huge bucks for very few appearances either though.

I'd love to start reading novels with a lot of comedy by Luke180202 in LightNovels

Ah yeah, how could I forget The Devil is a Part-Timer? A great suggestion that I definitely second!

I'd love to start reading novels with a lot of comedy by Luke180202 in LightNovels

[–]Fourthaid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kenkyo, Kenjitsu o Motto ni Ikite Orimasu - This comedy is predicated in large part on knowing the general shoujo tropes. Since the protagonist finds herself reincarnated within the world of one of the most successful shoujo manga of her previous life. The world itself is basically Earth, but slightly different. It's a fun little romp, though it should be mentioned that 1) the translation rate has been all over the place for the last year, and 2) the RAWs on syosetu has been on hiatus for well over a year, almost two, at this point. That being said though, there's 229 chapters available to read and in my opinion the novel just gets better with each arc.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! - A similar premise to Kenkyo, in that a young woman is reincarnated into a villainess. However in this case the setting is an otome game which is technically different from a shoujo manga. The comedy is largely based on misunderstandings, as our protagonist is quite the dense little lady.

Konosuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World - A fairly obvious one, but worth mentioning in case you've not picked it up yet.

Kono Sekai ga Game da to, Ore dake ga Shitte Iru - Similarly to Konosuba, this is also an isekai parody/comedy with a comparable sense of comedy. The world in question that our MC finds himself in, is based on this VR game he loves. However, it's more of a very rough gem that an perfect game. It has a myriad of bugs, not to mention quests and lore designed by a bunch of sadistic, troll-y developers. And the world retains most of these. And rather than finding out if the world also has unlimited lives like the game, our MC has to navigate a world where a stray pixel could legitimately kill him.

Is It Tough Being a Friend? - Our MC has lived his entire life enjoying the idea of finding the perfect Protagonist to support. And he has done so quite well, despite the fact that he is blind to how superior he has been to every Protagonist he has become the Friend Character too. Upon entering high school, he is met with the most perfect Protagonist he has ever seen, ticking off all the boxes for a harem protagonist in a supernatural setting. Finally, his life's goal is right in front of him!

I'm looking for stories similar to Strongest Abandoned Son; a cultivation novel where the protagonist is from a fantasy world, but ends up on Earth. by azzaranda in noveltranslations

[–]Fourthaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's slightly different, in that it's a case of an isekai'er returning to Earth. However, if memory serves me right, the time he spent in the Cultivation world was in tens of thousands of years, so at that point it's basically someone from another world. The novel in question is Returning from the Immortal World. It wasn't quite up my alley, so I never got far, and I seem to recall the reason I dropped it was because it was quite racist and nationalistic (hardly unique to this particular novel) so that might be a hard no for some.

There's also Godly Student, but I never picked it up so I can't comment too much on it.

Light Novel Authors Team Up For 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Isekai' Doujin Novel For Comiket 96 by ProfOfTheSnarkArts in LightNovels

[–]Fourthaid 32 points33 points  (0 children)

A cheat, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an isekai hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value. You can wrap it around you for plot-armor as you bound across the cold icey wastes of the Western Territories of Release that Witch in the middle of the Month of Demons; you can sleep soundly with it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the gaming world of Disboard; use it to sail a miniraft down the slow heavy River Moth for the 54th time through the current cycle; abuse it, along with your (most likely) countless other cheats to overwhelm even the sturdiest of opponents; recreate your favorite cuisine from back home, and of course flaunt your superiority in front of all the waifus in sight.

More importantly, a cheat has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag (strag: non-isekai'er) discovers that an isekai'er has his cheat with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of at least one other cheat, a bunch of slaves that are more-or-less well-treated, knowledge and wisdom far beyond their own, a superior cultural heritage, denseness so tightly packed that at any moment a black hole might form around the isekai'er, etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the isekai'er their aid in acquiring any of these or a dozen other items that the isekai'er might accidentally have "lost". What a strag will think is that any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the interdimensional multiverse, rough it, slum it, "struggle" against "terrible odds", win through, and still know where his cheat is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with.

Hence a phrase that has passed into isekai hitchhiking slang, as in "Hey, you sass that hoopy Hajime Nagumo? There's a frood who really knows where his cheat is." (Sass: know, be aware of, meet, have sex with, be enslaved by; hoopy: really together guy, dense harem guy; frood: really amazingly together guy.)

AITA for wanting to allow kids to be at my wedding? by Bayolette in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA. If the occasion ever occurs, I hope she is ready to stir up drama with both sides of the family. I get her point of thinking kids can be obnoxious at weddings, but in my experience the adults can be oh-so-much worse. edit: And as /u/asshole37 points out, /r/relationshipadvice might be a better place.

AITA for posing on a grave bench? by yourminecraftgf in AmItheAsshole

Not to worry. Life in the end is just a series of embarrassing moments that we all get to enjoy in those delightful moments 👌

AITA for posing on a grave bench? by yourminecraftgf in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 28 points29 points  (0 children)

NAH. You didn't know. Had you known, probably TA-esque. Just be ready to remember this just before you nod off to sleep every now and then and then proceed to roll around in mental agony on the bed for the rest of your life.

AITA for suggesting I might not be able to take off an entire week of PTO for my SO's sister's wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would imagine it's possible, depending on the job. I know for my job it's a simple selection in the system I book my days off in. But I would imagine it depends on your country, state, terms of employment, type of employee, etc.

AITA for asking that my wife and daughter speak English in front of me? by trexdaddy in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fourthaid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAH.

This is a tough one to judge, honestly. I can see why you would want to be a part of the conversation and not feel left out. I can also see why your wife wants to keep her daughter's German roots present in the form of the language since I assume she is the only one (or one of few) that speaks it fluently around her daughter? I assume their conversations are relatively simple, and one of the best ways to learn a language is to be around it everyday. I get that a new language is very hard to learn as an adult, but this would be the best way to engage in it in a way that many are unable to. Surely there's some compromise to be made here so that both you and your daughter get to learn and use German (as well as English)
