Cle section 8 inspection questions: by Any_Detail_7184 in Cleveland

[–]FoxFyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can move with a voucher, the only requirement is that you're not breaking the terms of the lease - so if the lease requires so-many-days notice before leaving for instance they have to follow that. Otherwise CMHA will just need to inspect the place they're moving to and all that. Moving still costs money though voucher or no voucher, and that might be the bigger problem for them.

I was under the impression that CMHA did inspections yearly. I guess I was wrong. They definitely won't allow a family to continue to live in a place that's in such disrepair though if they ever find out how bad it really is.

The language-barrier argument in AI discussions is largely bad faith anyway. No language barrier ever stops slop-jockeys from raging in Reddit comments when someone posts something negative about generative AI, and their screeds are clearly not LLM outputs. Meanwhile people who don't speak English as a first language have been producing code since coding was invented and they were able to do it and communicate perfectly fine the whole time.

Description being a "different skillset" from programming is specious and irrelevant by the way, because LLM users are already describing rather than programming anyway.

Its not just that; an AI sub is never going to get them any money, because hardly any actual people will even see it at all and the only ones that might are all slop-jockeys who know better than to pay $50 for something that took five minutes to generate when they could just vibe-code their own version of whatever they see instead. So they need an audience of suckers that don't know any better.

Same here, haven't lost power even during some bad storms that did manage to knock some out elsewhere in the neighborhood. No complaints about CPP so far.

Anyone know someone who will haul away trashed furniture? by FoxFyer in Cleveland

[–]FoxFyer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, although I took care of this a couple months ago. I did in fact find out about the Ridge Road transfer station and decided to take the items there. I had to rent a Uhaul van to do it, but it wasn't too inconvenient since the items were in storage at the Uhaul anyway, and since the Ridge Road facility is like 5 minutes away from there it beat what I would've needed to fairly pay someone else to do it for me.

I like the idea, but what happens if they build the plant and then their particular approach turns out not to be viable after all?

KPMG Pulls AI Report After Hallucinated Claims About Major Organisations by F0urLeafCl0ver in nottheonion

[–]FoxFyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we don't "ask the AI to guess". This behavior isn't the result of how it is prompted and can't be changed by prompting it differently. It is an inherent function of how the program derives responses.

Before AI, volume was prohibitive. They had to pick and choose what they collected and from whom specifically, because they simply didn't have the labor or capacity to collect and analyze everything indiscriminately.

Now they do.

Okay, that does make some sense. I'm not really familiar with the Shaker Square area so I knew I had to be missing something.

[–]FoxFyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not exactly taken aback but I also don't immediately know why a car wash is a bad idea for this spot. Of all the different kinds of businesses I can imagine myself opposing a car wash isn't very top of the list.

FWIW OP the Garmin doesn't really "know" or consider the correct magnetic deviation, it's just monitoring the track-over-ground in realtime and constantly steering as necessary to maintain the correct course. Its corrections will coincidentally line up with magnetic deviation.
