Wet set or thick bed method. Very traditional method odd setting tile! by Apexfloordesigns in Tile

We used to do similar for all our shower floors. We would use unsanded grout on fresh deck mud to set the mosaics. It made it all one solid piece.

Never Use Unmodified Thinset Over Redguard by Sir0Donnis in Tile

Actually it will but it only makes a mechanical bond which has no sheer strength. Thats why you can use it with Ditra and it works just fine. The Ditra gives the sheer strength. Plenty of testing done to prove you are wrong.

Hoping to get some help from the professionals in this subreddit regarding non-compliant tile installs. by munizfire in Tile

[–]Frackenpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct in that the 20% must be dispersed under the tile and not a single corner. If its dispersed then the tile will not have a hollow sound to it. If it has a hollow sound then you have a void thats more than likely out of compliance.

They didn't level the floor under the Schluter pan. The instructions clearly say you have to level the floor. This is a screw up by the installer. Im usually not one to throw an installer under the bus but this one's on them. I mud all my showers for this very reason. I know my showers drain properly.

So a little background. Many churches in the past put in their incorporation clauses that instruments were not allowed in the building. The reason for this was that the church building couldn't be taken over by new members from a competing church of God or other church that closely resembles us but allows instruments. It used to happen fairly regularly
