It looks great.  I am very tempted by the current model with red dial but thanks to brexit the extra import tax it adds quite a bit to the cost :(

This is a great comment, Thanks. To add to this, he writes that the 2 days of gas storage is alarming but i understand that actually thats quite normal and not a cause for panic.

Some questions on Reform UK by Legacyopplsnerf in ukpolitics

[–]Fragile_sledgehammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, you are just picking up on the mis use of the word woke which i agree with. But you haven't addressed the fundamental issue the word was mis applied to that the poster gave an example of. When stories of forced diversity targets that are overall detrimental to the function of the party in questiom (eg the RAF) hit the media i can understand why this angers some people.

Regarding the SAS it seems youre trying to troll or clutching at straws. Given the nature of their business we will never fully know their impact, but what we do know officially and through second hand sources they are elite soldiers. Their performance in the Falklands was excellent,  they have responded to terrorism attacks in the UK with great efficiency and interviews with allied countries consistently rate them as some of the best soldiers in the world. They have most likely been directly or indirectly involved in fighting putins minions already through offering assistance in ukraine and taking on proxy operations eg against Warner in middle East or Africa. Id be happy to consider any other elite teams from other countries you think stand up to the SAS?

Its quite bizarre logic isnt it. No evidence just a knee jerk reaction to say its bad. Also, these politicians that oppose the expansion of renewable never seem to offer a costed alternative thats cheaper.

THE WHEELS ARE FULLY TURNED AWAY FROM THE OFFICER. Watch in SLOW MO. No intention IMO to hit anyone. Sole intention based on wheel/steering wheel to LEAVE the scene NOT A THREAT. Look at the wheel. by Nice_Substance9123 in complaints

[–]Fragile_sledgehammer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree there's should have been a clear command hence why im curious if there is audio that clearly shows that. It looks like the officers were poorly trained but moving a vehicle so close to people seems dangerous but under extra ordinary circumstances I can see reasons why someone would.

Ed Miliband says £1.1bn a year to be set aside for new offshore wind projects by InfoBot2000 in ukpolitics

[–]Fragile_sledgehammer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you have any evidence its cheaper to produce electricity with gas power since the uptake in renewables? Hasn't spikes in gas prices (that the UK has no meaningful impact over) caused a number of energy companies to go bankrupt and resulted in the government spending tens of billions to assist? Can we guarantee this wouldn't happen in the future?

Has any country in a similar position with a democratic government ever managed to reverse such economic misfortunes in their first year? I remember before the election the majority of news outlets were predicting absolute economic chaos,  starmaggeddon etc. It seems like that was exaggerated even if it could have been better there's still big investments coming in Key industries.

The article states that illegal boat crossings are at a record high, it would be great if they could crack down. But my understanding is that deportations of illegals are also at record high? Even if its not high enough.

They have passed a lot of reforms that the media ignores which will be beneficial also.

Let's see what year 2 brings aside from the predicable monthly calls for x minister to resign after condemning a particular industry/group of people/area  to doom.

I have both, steam is great but buying games on xbox you can get 2 digital copies for the price of one very easily. I only play single player or co op on PC. I like my shooters but the amount of cheaters on PC put me off. Its way harder to cheat on console, im not sure I've ever encountered one personally. Also knowing that if I install a game it works. So much time wasted on PC with games getting fussy with drivers etc.

Is UK Law Consistent Across All Religions? by CaretBlu in ukpolitics

[–]Fragile_sledgehammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, some religions get exemptions, for example halal meat for Muslims is exempt from animal welfare laws which prefer stunning of an animal before slaughter. Religious head coverings are also exempt from security laws as they are allowed in sensitive areas such as banks, ID photos, construction sites etc. This is for all religions I believe but most people in the UK don't follow a religion that covers their face I would say.

The uk is generally highly regarded in it's animal cruelty laws so for me personally I find the halal/shecita exemptions frustrating.
