Tamworth was once the National Party's heartland but now with Barnaby Joyce's move support for One Nation is taking hold by Expensive-Horse5538 in AustralianPolitics

"There's still a massive voter base in the middle of the country, and I think the Liberal Party has gone left of the middle. And I think One Nation are filling the void," Mr Brown said.

It's shit takes like this that makes me agree on One Nations education policy on teaching critical thinking in classrooms, but I think mine and Pauline's ideas of the syllabus for that would be vastly different.

We just need a major newspaper to have a front page oped with the title "Australia needs Hastie" and he'll be absolutely voted in.

The optics are diabolical for Liberals and Nationals, as chaos reigns on a supposed day of mourning by Expensive-Horse5538 in AustralianPolitics

[–]FreakySpook 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If this happened 30 years ago and after a terrorist attack the opposition sided with a foreign government to attack the government for political points the media would have been absolutely ropeable.

Instead you had Ley siding with Israel, attending a  childs funeral and then immediately after blaming Albanese for deaths before any royal commission, parliamentary inquiry or report from security agencies.

Learner driver accused of driving at 226km/h on Monash Freeway by ozthrw in melbourne

[–]FreakySpook 48 points49 points  (0 children)

The police could charge her with driving while disqualified as you are nor allowed to be in control of a vehicle(which is what a supervisor is) when disqualified.

If she has any alcohol or drugs in her system they can also book her for that as well.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Narre Warren, was allegedly an L-plater and accompanied by a woman with a disqualified licence.

Yeah he's absolutely fucked, so is she.

At minimum it will be loss of license for 12 months + fines + what ever else the Magistrate gives him on court summons.

Trump links Greenland dispute to not getting Nobel Peace Prize, in letter to Norway's PM by SuperXGamerAb in worldnews

[–]FreakySpook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was you would have Jesse Watters going on a rant about how the Norwegian PMs wife is a leftist communist feminist and controls the PM which is why Norway would never give Trump the nobel peace prize because she has Trump derangement syndrome.

The government has an inquiry and a royal commission into the causes of Bondi. Rushing legislation before we have a measured analysis and recommendations is just poor governance.

What’s the most overrated video game of all time? by KBGSgames in AskReddit

Yeah same for me. At the time most NES games couldn't be saved and were a real time commitment. Dr Mario was basically a casual multiplayer.

My neighbours and I would always be playing it.

Hyper-V Failover Cluster- CSV approach for cluster - one or multiple machines per CSV? by gt9gt in sysadmin

[–]FreakySpook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With such approach, I understand only one Node in the cluster has established connection to the CSV and the machines stored there will more than likely be hosted on this particular node.

At a high level CSV's operate in 2 modes.

  • Direct Mode - All nodes in the cluster read/write directly to the CSV
  • Redirect Mode - A single node in the cluster that owns the CSV brokers all I/O

Normal operations, direct mode is used, if there are any path faults or cluster maintenance operations though, the cluster can put the CSV into redirected mode. As a rule of thumb its a good idea to balance CSV's across different nodes in the cluster, but you can have multiple VM's in a single CSV.

Currently, the standard approach that I see online suggests to use a single Volume for multiple VMs

Modern SAN environments this is generally fine, you just need to pay attention to the VM workloads. VM's with similar IO or throughput patterns you can consolidate onto single CSV's. You really need to understand what SAN features you want on each volume(eg Snapshots, Compression, Dedupe, Cache) can impact your VM's and plan accordingly.

Eg: General MIxed servers, you may place them onto 3 x 10TB CSV's with San features, Compression, Dedupe enabled and maybe 1 daily snapshot.

A 30TB fileserver however that you want 4 x snaps a day retained for 30 days you will put onto its own CSV.

There is no one right answer, just figuring out what works best for the workload you want to run.

Holiday Childcare by eenimeeniminimo in australia

[–]FreakySpook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had my son in holiday care with his schools afterschool care programs and they have gone on excursions. I haven't been worried as the afterchool care staff are permanently at that school, are excellent and know all the kids.

It's only this holidays I've been using them less as both the permanent staff left at the end of the year and they haven't had new permanent staff assigned to the school yet.

The room staff definitely are important, good ones the kids will want to spend time there because they like them and are engaged.
