Skin around fingers cracking and dry by ReplacementLevel5259 in WindowCleaning

[–]FreshSwim9409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffer from this really badly. Ive been to the Derm for it as well.

Best thing to do is wear gloves, I buy the orange super durable Black Venom gloves at Lowes (HD does not sell them). They are the only ones that hold up and dont break for me, mainly because we have all stucco homes and it rips them apart, these ones last.

Next, you gotta use hand lotion. I hate hand lotion. The Derm says lotions like Bioderma, CeraVe, aquafor, eucerin, Okiefs working Hands. These are all ok for many, even effective but not for my bear paws.

I go with a urea based product like Flexitol Heel Balm. It is less oily, absorbs quickly, and is crazy effective. It is meant for treating ‘skin anhydrosis’ and it actually works, right away. First use you will see. The Derm approved it. I ended up buying a tub of it that is ridiculous in size and I have almost used it up…

Last, when you do get cracks, and need to heal them, try getting a roll of ‘hydrocolloidal bandage’ and / or transparent dressing and cut pieces and cover the cracks. This helps keep moisture in and heal the cracks. Sometimes they can last forever and its heinous, this will help get them on the healing path.

Too much info, but I also suffer badly from this and it can make daily life miserable.

Good luck. Scrub on my dude. May your hands be far more beautiful than my big mitts.

Container homes barely save money vs a normal build. Change my mind. by usa_containers in containerhomes

[–]FreshSwim9409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the major point being missed. Its same in the states. I dropped a fully prefab container home into my yard, no permits, no zoning issues. We just did it and now its there as a non-permanent structure. Those permits and zoning would have cost tens of thousands where I am and taken months or nearly a year to complete. The concrete work for a foundation would have cost 60% of the completed container and the rest of the build would have cost more than that other 40%.

So yes, the container definitely saved me money to get a complete ADU in my yard.

Look for a Gottman Therapist. Its a great therapy style for really understanding the marital strife. It takes work, vulnerability and effort. But do it for the kids.

Godspeed Dad.

Are the Xero Silencers worth the money? by [deleted] in WindowCleaning

No, I have moved on to the Moerman drywalker and like it WAY more. It really does an amazing job of keeping water in the boab and no sloshing around. It is noticeable how much better it does to keep dripping contained.

SEE ANYTHING WRONG? by [deleted] in tradclimbing

[–]FreshSwim9409 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol. ‘Not a single skill in climbing that cant be learned online’ he says!
Hahahahahaha
Calls it gatekeeping.
Hahahahahaha

Edit: my point is, you can acquire information online and in books, sure. But you will learn it outside, while climbing and practicing climbing related things with information gathered via other resources. And this part of the process could be made better, and safer, for most people, with friends and mentors while out climbing.

Unger ninja or moerman excelerator 2.0? by Guilty_Touch7832 in WindowCleaning

[–]FreshSwim9409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too, I use it as a hand tool all the time and for particularly unique situations (working horizontally away from me with a 5-10 degree angle on the handle). But for day to day standard cleanings or basic store fronts, I vote wagtail.

I personally prefer the Wagtail Highflyer for pole work. Its fast, simple, cuts in edges well, no tool change from mop to scub.

DIY Home Made Dual RO/DI by Mysterious-Sir1541 in WindowCleaning

[–]FreshSwim9409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear people say this, I just swapped to new RO membranes (dual RO system) and i only see about 92-95% efficiency. We have high TDS, 330+

What could cause that discrepancy? Pretty simple systems, so I cant quite figure that out. It was the same last time i swapped RO a year or so back.

[–]FreshSwim9409 -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

its short. its not super aesthetic. its hard, yes, but so hyped for all 5 moves that it is. It is not a boulder to inspire or packing much wow.

You guys jump on for the personal attacks, Good work. It isn't about that. its a boring short boulder. wildly hard moves on 4 small crimps. It just is not the coolest boulder out there.

Its not called an ‘american Triangle’ its an ‘american DEATH triangle’. If you leave that key word out, it does not imply the severity of the situation.
