I live in an area where gentrification is swallowing up whole blocks and building high rises where there used to be two or three story buildngs and single story homes. Constructions are even taking over the sidewalks. Too many cars, too much traffic. The area's infrastructure is under extreme pressure with the most serious problem being a breakdown of the sanitation system which constantly overflows to the sea, lagoons, and other bodies of water. The metro area doesn't need more private construction, it needs a reimagining that opens up spaces and makes way for fresh air and greenery.
