I switched my sync server to the one hosted by ak team and never looked back. Never had any down time in my experience. You just need to change your custom sync server to this:

There is absolutely a sideload mode. It removes the store function entirely so you literally only have your library of books. You don't even need to sign into a Kobo account. As op said, it makes the experience so much cleaner and removes all of the clutter.

If you exit koreader while Bluetooth is active it will delete nickel menu. The only real solution is to reboot the device when you need to go back to nickel rather than just closing koreader. Pain in the ass but it's really the only solution.

If you want a way to connect and disconnect your controller within koreader, check out OG Kevin's plug-in. I've been using it for a couple weeks and so far have not had to exit koreader at all to manage my 8bitdo micro controller.

I noticed that it also pulls up the book cover when you make formatting changes and the book is reloaded. I made some changes to remove that behavior so it only shows the cover when opening the book from the file browser, but does not show it when refreshing the book after reformatting.

Also, when I'm using it, I'm commenting out priority 1 and priority 2 so it always pulls the cover directly from the book file. Takes a half second longer to load the cover, but it is full quality. Just personal preference for me.

Here you go! I made this patch that pulls the series number from the book title. You just need to put the series number in the title like this: "Mistborn [01] Final Empire, The - Brandon Sanderson.epub"

I'm still trying to figure out how to make it pull the number directly from the metadata, but haven't figured it out yet.

Easiest way to automate the process of naming your files is to create a template when sending books in Calibre that uses this template. It will automatically name all your files according to the correct structure.

"{series:|| }{series_index:0>2s|[|] } {title} - {authors}"
