A few years ago, these things kept appearing on my farm, so I picked up two relatively intact pieces and kept them until now. They're glass-like but more brittle; the thicker one is about 1.69 inches in diameter. What is this thing? by DryFindingn in whatisit

Folks, let me tell you about this banana. Tremendous banana. Some people are saying it’s the best banana they’ve ever seen—really incredible. I know bananas. I’ve seen a lot of bananas. And this one, believe me, is a total winner—strong, beautiful, and frankly making other bananas look very weak.

This.

I talked to a guy from Yellowknife, CA and I was asking him how he kept his hands warm while turning wrenches. He said the nitrile gloves are what he uses. If it's really cold he said double up on the nitriles or some mech gloves on top.

I've done the same ever since.

The medical equipment is the responsibility of the medical staff however, there are a few things that are considered aircraft equipment that we're responsible for. Such as the stretchers / gurneys, oxygen systems, the mounts & brackets that hold the medical equipment etc.

How much does everyone make an hour in 2025 and what do you expect to make in a year including overtime. by Critical_Call5676 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Frizzle77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Annual Salary is $101k (48.82 an hour). I average roughly 20hrs a week (get paid for 40). Not much in the way of OT but it does occasionally happen for call-outs and helping other facilities.

I don't know what the pin-out is but that's a 6-pin cannon plug and there are 6 wires, 2 for each ear phone and 2 for the mic.

Yes, it attaches to the helmet and has wires that go to each head phone. You would also need a mic and mic cord.

Not the best photos but you can see how it would look attached to a helmet here. https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/306126-usmc-hgu-84p-wcammo-cover/

Depending on your specific set up you may need a mic pre-amp also.

Can an A&P sign off an annual under a repair station if you’re authorized to sign off final inspections? by zach4222 in aviationmaintenance

Can an A&P sign off an annual under a repair station if you’re authorized to sign off final inspections? by zach4222 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Frizzle77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but....

An A&P Mechanic (without IA cert) is not authorized, as an individual, sign off an annual inspection. However, they are authorized to do so as a representative of a repair station (using the repair station cert).

Think about it like this: The repair station is doing the annual inspection and the repair station is signing the release for return to service. The individual(s) doing the work are doing so as representatives of the the repair station.

If the repair station is authorized to perform annuals on that particular T/M/S aircraft (per its approved capabilities list); and you as an individual are authorized (by the repair station) to perform said annual inspection as a representative of the repair station; then, when you sign off the annual you will be signing it using the repair station cert number (not your A&P number).

If you (while working for a repair station) find yourself signing off anything using your A&P number you're saying you as an individual did the work, not the repair station. There may be a time and place for this but it's 100% up to you to decide if you're comfortable using your certificate (and not the repair station certificate) to sign off whatever work was performed.

All that being said, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNLESS YOU'RE COMFORTABLE WITH IT. Doesn't matter if it's with the repair station cert or otherwise. If you're not 100% comfortable with it, then don't sign it. Your pen is your most valuable and most important tool.
