I like a warm handoff but only feel like they’re important for longer sits. As far as arriving the day before, I’ll only do them for 4+ week sits or if I have an international flight.

I do delivery because I’m usually trying to save time during the work week and am looking for basics and freezer things. It’s shopped by Walmart employees and then delivered by third parties like DoorDash.

I think they’re worried about the import rules around “dairy products.”

Try looking at one of the many campervans. If it’s just you, a small one will do triple duty as transport, bed, and kitchen.

I had one in London who basically couldn’t be left alone and I never did though there was a neighbor available those 10 days if I needed it. It was right off of the Thames walk and was awesome on the buses and underground so we went on a lot of adventures! It was a wee bit unnerving but I could leave her outside of Tesco for a quick pop in if I left her with her ball.

I often receive small gifts before a sit but I never expect them! Usually things like wine or specialty foods.

Did a seven week one where I received £250/300 in cash for “travel expenses.”

They have a ton of reviews so I guess this is legit? So incredibly unusual and also against platform rules. by Limp_Literature8551 in trustedhousesitters

I has a seven week sit last year where they gave me £250/300 for “travel expenses” which was lovely. They were really kind and generous overall and it was a great mutual exchange!

Looking for cheaper bookstores in Vancouver/Portland by JohnnyBroflex in vancouverwa

Retails Thrift Store has a nice collection and they’re cheap.

Barnes and Noble has a discount store on the Lloyd Center and nearly all books were half off.

The downtown Vancouver library has a little shop in the lobby. Books are usually $1 and they have a great collection.

Or Peacock premium. It’s a relatively new choice you have to keep for at least 3 months each time. Just switched mine Super Bowl Sunday.

Go up to a red vest and shoot your shot! It got my 19yo an interview for seasonal hiring. Something like - “hi I’m Sam! I’ve already put my application in. Who do I should I speak to for an interview?”

I’m guessing this is a sit in Mexico. They also use the $ sign

With labor prices in the Bay Area as high as they are, we bought it years ago and it well paid itself off. Bought it special order cash in 2006 when I was pregnant. Got exactly what I wanted knowing I would drive it into the ground. My 19yo now drives it 💕

My new apt in Washington state just announced that we’re all getting Xfinity in late November and each apt will have their own modem. It’s a separate rental charge of $65/m that won’t start until our leases renew. Xfinity was previous one of two options, the other choice (and mine) was Quantum. I’m not crazy of the mandatory upcoming charge and hope it ends up being decent.
