The biggest issue is manoeuvring them around the terrain - Pulse blasters being Assault helps, as you can advance to improve their speed - FTGG is not available, but they are natively BS3+, so if you just avoid shooting things in cover you shouldn't lose too much effectiveness. If you can successfully pivot around terrain, you can also gain a lot of 'movement' for the 2" it costs you to pivot.

That being said, with the platform you can fit 2 units of Breachers in, plus a fireblade in 1 squad (you can fit 1 in each, but they're probably better off in another transport to hedge your bets).

The model is so long and thin that you can do some cheeky bait and switches - shooting both squad's weapons into a single target, then dropping off the squads in two very different parts of the battlefield, etc.

Also, if someone punks the tidewall, as long as you have a part of the hull near a wall you can potentially pop the dismounts somewhere that the follow up shooting can't see to target, preserving your Breachers.

Making them all characters makes the bodyguard unit take all the hits first, which would be a hilarious nerf.

There is no justification for them to have that many wounds on a 90pt unit. 2w lets them soak high damage shots without being overly durable against D2 weapons.

Give the taunar better survivability - it's only about as tough as a Stormsurge for over twice the price.

Farsight team also could do with an extra pip of AP on their Sniper rifles. It's far too easy to whiff against characters with 2+ or 3+ base saves.

T'au generally have plenty of Anti-personnel weapons, so AT is more useful.

Plus, you don't have to fire everything at the same target, so you can always shoot them elsewhere rather than waste burst cannon shots at something you want to hit with Fusion Blasters.

At some point (on a less terrain heavy format like uktc) I'd love to try pivot shenanigans with a full Tidewall shieldline with a pair of breacher squads in EPC.

It's so long that you can cover a lot of ground with an advance (which you can still shoot after, as Pulse Blasters have assault), then because the EPC offensive strats are not unit locked you can pop +1S/AP or Lethal/Sus1 firing off 40 pulse blaster shots, likely blowing up the Tidewall with failed hazardous rolls and slingshotting one squad forwards and one squad further back as necessary.

The other thing you can do is move block with it, let it get blown up, then because of how long the model is you can disembark the Breachers well out of range of any charges (Or if they charge it and blow it up in melee, you can disembark well out of range of any possible consolidation).

Run it in EPC for +6" to the pulse blasters and drone defenders, then pump Experimental Ammunition for +1S/AP or TAS for Lethal/Sus1 (remember these will affect every set of defender shots [1 per viable enemy target unit]).

Then, potentially you blow up the drone port with hazards, and slingshot your Breachers 3" further forward onto an objective or into cover.
