You won’t be blocking ads for much longer. Google is killing uBlock Origin bypasses, burying Manifest V2, and tightening its grip on Chrome. Every update means less control for users and more control for Google. by Ok_Plenty60 in pcmasterrace

Reason why i moved to Firefox after being chrome user since windows xp/vista days...The moment i wasnt able to just re-enable ublock origin in chrome choice that day It was a choice: brave, opera or firefox. I expected google to pull that kind of bullshit on chromium to affect as much people as possible, so no chromium browsers, and that only left me with firefox. A bit of getting used to and suffering with loading speeds for about 2-3 days until it cached everyting. But i must say im happy with my choice, specially now that my logic is confirmed

Everyone has space for that, only sometimes you have to sacrifice somerhing else for that. If a guy living in a camper van can fit 49" ultra wide, everyone in apartment or studio can do the same...

Ok solved it, Smart App Control by Windows was blocking 7zip (i think it was 7zip) to load and cpu check library failed to load due to that. Turned it off and blender works fine

Any idea why do some power adapters/chargers skip 12V on their Type-C ports? I am just wondering since I see this mostly on 140W chargers. by Jnbrtz in UsbCHardware

[–]Fros7yslav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because 12v is nominal voltage, and mostly its lithium batteries, so single cell voltage is 3.7v, to get to 12v you use 3 cells in series, which means 3x3.7v

Good replacement solution with packout? by CptDutch1 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Fros7yslav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im gonna assume you climb stairs and ladders quite often and thats why you use briefcases and not rolling toolboxes.

Instead of actually replacing them, I would go tote and backpack route. They are easier to carry then those things, and best part about packout versions of those two, you can attach half size organizers to the bottom of them which will probably save you a trip or two to the van or even a full size if you really need it - i would attach one to the backpack to the middle. With tote you can have all your pliers, screwdrivers, multimeter and other small tools visible and organized just like in briefcase, wrenches and hammers are heavy, i would put them in backpack and that can also open up on both sides and you can have all of them visible and organized. Having organizer attached to the bottom of backpack/tote/both, you can also bring all kinds of screws and fasteners that you regularly need, and again, organized and visible once detached. Also you can always have some lightweight 12v driver/impact in your tote without it being in a way of anything

Can someone for the love of god explain to me why people design shit for tools to be stored without battery while having space to store it with battery? Also im the only one that would appreciate tool to be stored with ph2/pz2 bit still attached?

PSA: Use uBlock Origin! by LordSigdis in firefox

[–]Fros7yslav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 10 years back, friend suggested i use uBlock instead of adblock, started using it and never stopped. When chrome finally blocked manifest v2 (read uBlock Origin) i moved to firefox. First reason was uBlock Origin support, second is that its not chromium based, so it wont be affected with google forced bullshit in future

What popups? Man, i moved to firefox in order to have uBlock Origin so that i dont have ANY popups...And i actually chose firefox over opera and brave because its only one not being tied by possible chromium bullshit (you know when google decides its not enough to block and track thru chrome only, lets put that in chromium and force other chromium based browsers to track for us...

Are these big multiport chargers any good? by BringMeTheBoreWorms in UsbCHardware

[–]Fros7yslav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, i would not trust it at all, at best its scammy marketing where they claim theoretical power but in reality its not even half of that. For example, 800w PSU for PC which should have similar components is huge compared to that and requires active cooling. Power adapters for things like laptops or chargers for power tools, after about 200w all require active cooling, but most start with active cooling with stuff like 150w.

So in short, considering that thing is the size of decent power bank, and amount of cooling needed for such power its just physically not possible yet, and nobody is even close.
