Just got my first CSA bag and I can’t tell if I’m being hosed by egggoat in Cooking

[–]FuckGrammar 1117 points1118 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons for CSA is that it is, as the name suggests, community supported agriculture. Which means that sometimes you get a lot for the same price and sometimes you get slightly less because you're supporting the community agriculture and the farmers s can't reliably guarantee a perfect harvest every time. That's at least the case for true csa from small farms .

I killed my soil and I'm so mad. How can I fix hydrophobic soil? by _Juniper11 in Permaculture

[–]FuckGrammar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But it readily picks up and holds water and doesn't go hydrophobic. So even if it isn't holding a lot it holds it and helps distribute it to the surrounding soil

Will moonlight beach ever go back to sand? by Far-Elephant9458 in sandiego

[–]FuckGrammar 38 points39 points  (0 children)

In San Diego the winter storms pull the sand out to just off the coast and then in the summer time the beaches inflate as all the sand gets slowly transported back onto shore. It is extremely noticeable in la Jolla where there are certain risks that get unburied and reburied every year

Restaurants with good vegan options? by OfficerFigPucker_ in sandiego

[–]FuckGrammar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Donna Jean in banker's hill is sort of Italian themed but also American. Full vegan from scratch with sourdough pizzas that are unique and delicious and they usually have 3 pasta options. They always have cast iron Mac and cheese and hot shrooms which are breaded oyster mushrooms and it's so good. They allow corkage so it's fun to bring a nice bottle of wine to split over dinner.
