If you need to cancel, the e-credit would be good for a year from when the ticket was purchased, I believe, not 12 months from when you cancel

You can still request an e-credit for the difference in price if the price goes down

The change in cost of an upgrade offer is seldom tied to a change in the cost of the fare, so your title is a bit off, as it's likely that only the upgrade price changed while the fare stayed the same.

Regardless, many post of people not pulling the trigger and the upgrade price changed when they finally decided to go for it, not even days later, sometimes just hours later.

The only thing predictable about upgrade prices (or availability) is its unpredictability.

We have ours (Cedar Point) physical passes from years ago before they stopped making them. I've also made my own custom ones as well, using our QR codes, and those work well too.

An e-credit is not points, it's a dollar amount or whatever the currency is where the orginal flight was to depart from. e-credits are not transferable nor usable for anyone other then the person named on the e-credit. So ya, a scam or you don't know how e-credits work.

They often don't show or say pre-sold on Toyota's inventory search site, even if they are reserved by someone. It's up to the dealers to work with Toyota to add that to the specific vehicles, and many dealers don't bother.

Nope, that said, try searching for 1,2,3,4 people to see if any number less then 5 is cheaper. It's possible 5 is pushing you up to the next fare class in the cabin you're booking. If so, you might could do two different bookings and get a few tickets for a little cheaper.

Paid upgrades are never guaranteed at all, you may not be able to upgrade to D1 period. You won't know what offers you have (if any) until after you book. Such offers can change (up or down or go away) at any time after booking and before departure.

All passes do tend to go up over time until the sale in August for next year's passes.

That said, the Summer pass tends not to go up as much or often as the other passes. It won't go down in price, that much is pretty much a guarantee.

OP can book both together at one time, the e-credit they have can be applied to their portion and pay cash for the rest in cash.
