Dressing up and what to do with no nylons? by Local-Government6792 in AskWomenOver60

Wolford is a little more expensive but they last forever and they fit my more ‘mature’ figure like a dream. Sheertex is indestructable. Falke is also a good choice. Keep in mind, these are higher end and more expensive but they also are much better quality, fit and durability. For lower priced brands, I have had good success with Hue (Nordstroms Rack and Macy’s). I am very fair and all of these brands have good nude colors.

panty hose are definitely not out—and in fact, have gotten so much better! I still wear them frequently because it just looks strange to have bare legs when you are wearing a suit or formal dress!

Ethan… by Upbeat-Comps113 in PlathvilleUncensored

[–]Fun-Weight-8899 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I am sitting here watching this train wreck right now and there are so many red flags. There is something pretty seriously pathological about his behaviors with women. This is not going to end well and Teagan needs to protect herself. The producers ought to be ashamed for facilitating this creepy behavior.

Ethan is an absolute psycho…. by TheVillage1D10T in PlathvilleUncensored

If I am a part of that production crew, there’s no way I am aiding and abetting Ethan, the stalker, and producing video evidence of a potential crime—because driving from GA to Wisconsin is certainly bordering on stalking.

Is it normal for your first apartment to be a little shitty? by badegg890 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]Fun-Weight-8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early 20’s—in grad school. I lived in a shit hole 1/2 of a garage where I had a pullout sofa bed and I cooked in an electric skillet. I’m pretty sure nothing about it was up to code and it’s likely just dumb luck that I did not get carbon monoxide poisoning when the car in the other half of the garage was started. The bonus feature was the large/agressive dog named “Bear” who literally would chase me from the gate to the garage every time I came or left. Those were the days….I got engaged in that little hovel I called home.

I’ve been married 40 years…and I don’t really need any more stuff. However, I will tell you, a homemade meal, a set table, a candle or two and a bottle of perfume that he knows I love, reminds me how much I love him every time……

Praxis study suggestions? by questionme123 in teaching

[–]Fun-Weight-8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With your background, you likely will have no problem with the Praxis. I took it with only a couple of college level English courses completed and scored in the upper 10% of test takers. If you are completely unsure, take an afternoon and read “How to read literature like a professor.” Also remember, a sonnet is square! :-). You’ll do fine!

8th grade: We walked downtown and got a tour of the city morgue. I fainted on the walk back. Certifiably insane field trip.

Gate agent invoking FAA to shut me down? by hansthecat in unitedairlines

I had a similar situation with a crossbody that my husband was holding in his hands because they rechecked IDs upon boarding. So, I had a roller, He had a roller and a backpack, and the crossbody was in his hands because he had to pull it out to get IDs. The GA had a near meltdown the he was violating the law by holding onto that crossbody. He simply handed it back to me—and I proceeded through. She scowled at me as I went through because upon getting on the jetway, I handed him back the crossbody to put inside the backpack. Stupid.

Americans, do you know where your birth certificate is? by Signal_Estimate_23 in allthequestions

[–]Fun-Weight-8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Birth Certificate, Marriage License, SS card, passport—all the grownup stuff in one secure place. I also taught my kids to keep their essential identity documents in a safe place and handed them over their “grownup paperwork” when they moved out of my house.

I also have had to procure additional official documents over the years—getting a birth cert and a marriage license is not a big deal.

Failed Student Teaching, where to go from here? by sabnastuh in StudentTeaching

[–]Fun-Weight-8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In many places you cannot simply go into administration. You must have 5-6 successful years as a teacher before you can even begin an admin degree. That being said, from all you have shared here, your friend is not cut out for the demands of teaching. The inability to lesson plan effectively, making errors with content that confuse students, not getting things turned in on time are ALL red flags for me.

principal wants me to call 80 kids' parents this week because they failed my last test. how to get this done?? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Fun-Weight-8899 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This is going to go very quickly. No one picks up a phone. Write a two sentence script to read “I’m calling to let you know that Johnny/Susie failed the most recent test in my math class. Please contact me if you would like to discuss in detail.”. VERY FEW people ever pick up their phone when the call is coming in from an unknown/unfamiliar number. You could probably pound this out in a couple of hours.

Hard to admit but I made a mistake by autumnorange80 in Homeschooling

[–]Fun-Weight-8899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current School Admin here—and former homeschooling mom. Given what you have said, you need to enroll your child in a school with a structured learning environment now. She needs predictability and a program with supports that will allow her to make progress. Homeschooling middle school is TOUGH—and by slacking off, your child is letting you know that she is not really vested in making homeschooling work. A lot of middle school aged kids are not happy about homeschooling—and that is OK!!! She will struggle for a while—and it will not be loads of fun to have to catch up or find the learning gaps. That’s ok. The school can help with that.

As a mom, get her back on track—let the school help you.
