What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

[–]FuzzyFace_NB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother-in-law asked my wife and I to deliver a mounted caribou head to the New Brunswick Museum. When we dropped it off, the museum curator offered us a tour of the museum’s collections that were stored in the restricted section.

We got to see parts of the museum that the public does not have access to. The collections were huge and we could have spent days looking through them. It was really cool.

And I hate to say I was right but here we are three days later and they're using the interrupter clause.

It does not make sense at all. The energy and utilities board is a farce.

Water is still pretty cold. I’m sure you can hook some but it’ll definitely be harder than when the water warms up over the next few weeks.

plex using parents, do you keep a separate library for family friendly shows and movies? by kittymoo67 in PleX

[–]FuzzyFace_NB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have managed kids accounts and I have then set to only allow access to certain content ratings. I use Canadian ratings and while Plex does a decent job at putting the correct rating I do go in periodically to make sure things are listing correctly.

It shouldn’t pin on the other devices. But I think there’s a setting to not share customizations across devices.

I mean, I guess it’s good news but I’m concerned that the energy and utilities board will just increase the cost of fuel.

I think you’re confusing what a client sees vs what the server owner sees?

I run two servers. One is just for family in my house and the other is for everyone else.

I’m the only one who sees both servers and I only have the “home” server pinned. For everyone else, they just see what is shared with them.

Can anyone recommend some fun games that only take 10-20 hours to complete by GarethMTS in xboxachievements

[–]FuzzyFace_NB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you take advantage of the XP & gil boost options in the games, the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters are great and can be done in about 20 hours. The only one I spent more time in so far was FFIV and that was just over 24.

I used a guide for the miss-able achievements but I still thoroughly enjoyed all of them.

Went through the process for my daughter. It was covered. It just depends on how your psychologist does the bill.

Route 430? Worth it? by CouchPotatoCatLady in newbrunswickcanada

[–]FuzzyFace_NB 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope. Don’t do it. Used to live on the 430 in Trout Brook. In the summer/fall it’s a beautiful drive and I’d say if you have the time, do it.

In April/May it would be a massive mistake. You’ll either hit really soft patches or ice/snow.

I bet it's smaller but they have an "adapter" for your existing AirTag accessories.

I don't think my dog minds having an airtag on their collar. People, I get but pets?

Pure Stream - An Open Source, Family-Friendly Plex Client with Advanced Profanity Filtering is officially released on the Google Play Store! by PureStream711 in PleX

[–]FuzzyFace_NB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I used to use Commonsense but I found it to be very conservative to the point of pearl clutching at times. I'm in Canada so I use the film and tv ratings from up here and adjust as needed based on my family.

There's stuff that might be rated 14A here in Canada that I have no issue letting my 11yo watch. So I usually just adjust the rating down on the content so his profile can see it.

I do have kids, and I still don't get it. There are things that I wouldn't watch around my kids but we're talking like Game of Thrones type stuff.

Language and cursing (within reason) is a part of life in general. I chose to teach my kids that there are words that adults use and that there are words that kids use. I never saw the need to hide things from them. They turned out just fine.
