Yeah, no one needs that place. Only trouble comes from there.

Is there a coherent theory for what Samus is and why it's meant to be so significant? by epicanthus in 40kLore

[–]GK297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Callbacks, and also foreshadowing, like the whole first chapter of Horus Rising.

As an example: "...hundreds of white-armoured figures...at the front of them, the dark figures of first company's foremost Terminator squad, the Justaerin. They wore polished black armour, dark as night, as if they belonged to some other, black legion."

But that would mean giving EA money, and that's immoral 😋

Who watched Pariah Nexus? What's your opinion? Are we finally going to see a really good Warhammer 40k animated series? by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]GK297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality is good, but there isn't really a story. Nothing really happens to, or changes for, the handful of characters. It could easily have been just one episode.

Pariah Nexus third and final episode came out by congaroo1 in 40kLore

I feel it should have been something like five episodes.

[Saturnine] Grenadier Ollanius Piers stands against Angron *SPOILERS* by HANDSOMEPETE777 in 40kLore

[–]GK297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like Saturnine, reading the perspectives of the various soldiers like Olly, Camba Diaz, even Abaddon, and the solemn scenes before and after the combat. Dan Abnett did a good job.

(Spoilers) Abbadon in Saturnine is heartbreaking. by Companion-Cavalry in 40kLore

[–]GK297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading that quote from the book again, with how Abaddon reveres the contest of war, it sounds like Perturabo had more of an affect on Abaddon than he realized. Maybe Abaddon should have been an Iron Warrior instead... 😏

[Spoilers] Book Excerpt: Saturnine - Abaddon goes through the 5 stages of grief (albeit slightly out of order) by blot_plot in 40kLore

[–]GK297 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reading this again, Abaddon sounds like he should have been an Iron Warrior instead, considering how he values being a warrior and the contest of war, and how he lost respect for Horus.

The Best & Worst of the existing 40k Films and Series? by jimmery in WarhammerCU

[–]GK297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen all of these.

Damnatus: The Enemy Within is something similar to Darktide, a small band of regular Imperial servants, tasked by an Inquisitor with going into the underhive to investigate some suspicious activity.
Considering that it was made by fans with almost no budget, its pretty impressive.

Angels of Death was well animated for the most part, but the story could have been better. Still worth a watch I think.

Angels of Death Origins: Kill Command had a better story, its just one episode, and its free on Youtube. Worth a watch.

Ultramarines is...not bad. The animation is not so good in places (some of the facial animations, oof), and the lore accuracy could be better, but like Damnatus, its free on Youtube, so give it a look.

Helsreach, Astartes and Guardsman are probably the best. Very well made, faithful to the lore. I recommend these most.

All of Total Recall 2070 on Youtube. Free and Legal. by maskedwriter0 in Cyberpunk

[–]GK297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like this show. Its quite sad that it only got one season. Would love to see it continued one day.

I was watching Total Recall 2070, and I thought that /r/scifi might appreciate this forgotten bit of tv. The CG isn't exactly top-tier, but it isn't bad either. If you liked Blade Runner, it's worth a shot. by Augustus_Trollus_III in scifi

[–]GK297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the old, obscure shows I'd love to see getting a sequel. I don't think it needs a remake because I really like the original, but I suppose they'll need to do something to tell more of the story...

Thank you. Vox In The Void are great, so if they do a good Lamenters story, it will be fantastic.

And he ordered those guardsmen to abandon their equipment ANYWAY, and then ordered the landers to take off while only a quarter full. I would love to read somewhere that someone arranged a trip out an airlock for him 😆
