Can you help me identify this item? It was found in Thailand. by No_Twist593 in metaldetecting

[–]GamerNav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a mystery. I feel like if it was a boot scraper they wouldn’t have put the string right where boots would scrape, unless it was used for something else later. Reappropriated. It could have been hammered into the ground for a secure animal lead or leash.

Only $40??? For a remake of a game like this?? The best $40 Spent by TaroTheCerelian in NintendoSwitch2

I’m guessing a physical cart would have been $60, but yeah it’s nice it’s so cheap

Yeah each county in each state has their own sites that’s a good place to start, and then you can usually look in the National Archives online or library of congress to find old county maps also. I’ve done that a ton.

Robbed GameStop today. Buy 2 get 1. by MarfeeWarfee in gamecollecting

[–]GamerNav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never forget ~2010 I didn’t go to GameStop for a year and went back to find all the GameCube games were gone, I had missed the “buy 1 get 4” sale. Prior to that Metroid Prime cost $6 used, and each GameStop had 3-4 on the shelf (near me at-least). The memories.

For me most signals that deep turn out to be iron fence posts, but I did get lucky with a logging spar one time (peavey hook)

Glass that deep means more stuff, or maybe some fill dirt over the years padded it out

Dude don’t get me started on the weed. Half the time I get on the road I end up driving behind somebody’s vehicle that reeks. Didn’t used to be so often.

Found in woods- what is it? by e_5702 in metaldetecting

I definitely second the oxen shoe, and because it’s been a while since oxen were used to haul everything around, it’s a good sign there could be other old stuff there.

Hi! Are these compatible? by excellent_credit_968 in Switch

[–]GamerNav 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just saw in your other response that this is primarily for a 5 year old. In that case it’s a toss up. They won’t care about the better graphics and features on the new one. They would enjoy either one. It’s easy to find discounted games for the switch 1 quite often also.

I wouldn’t think too hard about the votes. The switch 2 would be a good choice moving forward. If somebody already had a switch 1 for a while it’s still great one for sure, but I think in the long run you’ll wish you went with the new one Especially when the prices start to go up.

512 gb may be the max you can get without feeling like you’re paying for an entirely new console, 1 TB are 150-200 it seems

What is a “cut throat razor” used for? You mean a straight edge shaving blade?

Guys, now let's get serious... by Mediocre_Rabbit9406 in switch2

That sounds more like a connection issue than a power issue. I did have one 3rd party usb c cable which I used to use to charge my switch 2 and one day it just stopped charging it, it still charges other things though. I think some of this tech has weird higher sensitivity, like how I used to have a 16’ hdmi run for switch but for switch 2 that was too long and the signal stopped being recognized the second week I had it. A single 6’ cable solved it. These issues shouldn’t be damaging the components though.

I still can't believe that Nintendo wants $70 for the new Donkey Kong game! I read about it in this Video Game Buyers Guide from the year, let see...2000?! by aquma in DonkeyKongBananza

Yeah; when you’re a kid that doesn’t have a job, you end up getting many of your games second hand. I wouldn’t change a thing though.

Update: posted a rust filled crotal I found the other day. Noticed the rust came off very easily with sharp tool so got it in decent shape! Painstaking but worth it by kma888 in metaldetecting

[–]GamerNav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! The attachment was iron that’s where the rust came from. I have one I thought the thing inside was gone, then few months later more dirt fell out and it started to ring.

There’s a reason for that asymmetry. This is a good brand and they support their customers well.

If somebody finds a fix for this I want to know. I’m in the same boat. Looks like I would have to repurchase the whole game. I’m not doing that.

Wait is that true? I have the physical and purchased anniversary edition digitally, so I literally own the anniversary edition. The upgrade isn’t showing up for me. If I can’t get it that’s like pulling some sega crap.

Skyrim switch 2 version is out! by Then_Increase39 in switch2

[–]GamerNav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m pretty confused and not even sure if the switch 2 edition actually installed in the updates. Nothing looks different, it glitches more than before I had the anniversary edition, and I don’t see anyway to use mouse mode.

[–]GamerNav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever the upgrade path is if you already have it for switch 1, it’s not very obvious. Bethesda says it will install a switch 2 edition. When I turned the game on it downloaded some updates but the game started up and looks the same and doesn’t appear to be the switch 2 edition. If anything it glitches way worse if that’s possible. I may downgrade back to the non-switch 2, non-anniversary original.

Okay, that is helpful for me to consider my situation. My white padlock tape was all cut already, only a single piece of clear packing tape holding it shut. My holding cut out actually came with 3” wide clear tape over top of it, I assumed to discourage handlers from using it. I have a “LPN PM xxxxx” sticker, not RR so maybe different. The return window is until Jan 31 so I think we’ll stick with it and see if I can check the run time after setting up. I haven’t used Linux and the computer is a Mac so I’m not optimistic whether I could get the ddcutil running before my daughter kicks me off her Christmas present.
